How to Build and Publish an App with AppDen
Updated
Connect AppDen to the AI you already use (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or Grok), describe the app you want in plain language, and let the AI build and publish it. AppDen runs it on managed infrastructure and gives you a private link that works on any device — you decide who can open it. No hosting, databases, or servers to set up.
What you need before starting
- An account with one of the supported AIs: Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or Grok.
- An AppDen account. The Free plan starts at $0 a month with no card required, so you can try the full flow before paying.
- A plain-language description of the app you want. No code and nothing new to learn.
Step 1: Connect AppDen to your AI
Add appden to Claude or ChatGPT once. The site describes this as taking about a minute. After connecting, your AI can publish apps directly to AppDen on your behalf.
If you use Gemini or Grok, the same plain-language approach applies — describe the app and have it published to AppDen.
Step 2: Ask for the app in plain words
Tell your AI what you want, the way you'd describe it to a person. Examples from AppDen's own materials:
- "Build me a CRM for the companies I'm interviewing with."
- "A tracker for my freelance invoices, just for me."
- "A sign-up sheet for our beach cleanup: names, time slots and what people are bringing."
Your AI builds the app and publishes it to AppDen. You don't write code.
Step 3: Publish it privately and get your link
Once built, the app goes live at a private address in the form your-app-name.appden.dev (for example, invoices-7k2d.appden.dev). The link works on any device, and you choose who can open it.
What AppDen handles for you
Every app gets its own server, database, and file storage, running from the moment it's published. AppDen looks after all of it, so you never think about servers, databases, or infrastructure. It also saves your app's data and keeps every version.
Plans and what they cost
| Plan | Price | Best for | Key limits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0/month | Trying things out and small personal apps | Monthly usage allowance; up to 10 apps; database and file storage per app; no card needed |
| Pro | $19.99/month | Apps you, your team, or customers use every day | 3× the Free usage allowance; unlimited apps; extra usage billed at the same rates |
Both plans use the same usage rates, and AppDen states nothing is ever billed by surprise. See the pricing page for the full rate details.
Common snags to expect
- Connection is one-time per AI. If publishing doesn't work, confirm
appdenis still connected to the AI you're using. - Vague descriptions produce vague apps. The more specifically you describe fields, users, and behavior, the closer the first build will be.
- Private by default. The link isn't public unless you choose to share it — decide who gets access before sending it out.
What you can build
Trackers, calculators, dashboards, sign-up sheets, or a tool for your team — the small software you wish existed. Your AI writes it, AppDen keeps it running.
