How to choose the right VPS plan on ispserver.com

Updated

ispserver.com sells VPS plans in five fixed tiers — Project, Startup, Develop, Business and Premium — that scale together in RAM, vCPU cores and price. All five share the same base features: NVMe storage, a free IP address, unlimited traffic at 100 Mbit/s, and one month of BitNinja protection. Pick the smallest tier whose RAM and core count cover your workload, then use the configurator if you need more than the Premium tier offers.

The five VPS plans side by side

The plans are listed with a 1-year term, and the site states you can cancel anytime in Account Settings.

Plan RAM vCPU cores Price / month Best suited to
VPS Project 2 GB 1 €3.50 A single small site, a test box, a lightweight service
VPS Startup 4 GB 2 €7.50 A small production site or a couple of low-traffic apps
VPS Develop 8 GB 4 €14.75 Development/staging environments, several apps on one host
VPS Business 12 GB 6 €20.75 Busier sites and multi-service workloads
VPS Premium 16 GB 8 €30.00 Heavier production workloads that still fit one VPS

Every tier includes NVMe storage, a free IP address, unlimited traffic at 100 Mbit/s, and BitNinja for 1 month. The differences between tiers are RAM, cores and price — not the feature set.

How to match a plan to your workload

Work from the resource that runs out first, not from the price.

  1. Estimate RAM. Add up what your stack needs at idle plus headroom: OS and web server, database, application runtime, and any control panel. If you are unsure, the jump from 2 GB to 4 GB is the cheapest way to avoid memory pressure.
  2. Estimate CPU. One core is fine for a single low-traffic site. Multi-process workloads (a database plus an app server plus background jobs) benefit from the 4-core Develop tier and above.
  3. Check storage and traffic. All plans include NVMe storage and unlimited traffic at 100 Mbit/s, so storage capacity and bandwidth are not the deciding factors between tiers — RAM and cores are.
  4. Confirm the term. Prices shown are for a 1-year term; the site says you can cancel anytime in Account Settings, so you are not locked into a fixed contract length.

If your project is a single small website or a learning environment, VPS Project is the entry point. If it is a real production site with a database, start at Startup or Develop. Move to Business or Premium when several services share the host or traffic grows.

When the fixed tiers are not enough

The configurator lets you build a custom VPS beyond the five plans. The page shows ranges up to 128 CPU cores, 512 GB RAM and 4000 GB NVMe storage, with unlimited traffic at 100 Mbit/s included for free, Ubuntu 24.04 as a free operating system option, and no software preinstalled by default. A base configuration is shown at €9.00 for 1 month in the Netherlands, with the server stated to activate within 5 minutes.

Use the configurator when your requirement is clearly above the Premium tier — for example, a workload that needs more than 16 GB RAM or more than 8 cores — rather than paying for a dedicated server you do not yet need.

VPS or dedicated server?

ispserver.com also offers dedicated Intel and AMD servers in Germany and Finland, with 7 configurations listed. The cheapest shown is an Intel Core i5-13500 in Germany: 14 CPU cores, 4.8 GHz, 64 GB RAM, 2 × 512 GB NVMe, unlimited traffic at 100 Mbit/s, one free IPv4, at €67.00 per month plus a one-time €103.00 setup fee. An AMD Ryzen 5 3600 configuration is also listed with 6 cores, 64 GB RAM and 2 × 512 GB NVMe.

Choose a VPS when you want low monthly cost, fast activation and the ability to cancel in Account Settings. Choose a dedicated server when you need the full machine — far more RAM and cores than any VPS tier, at a higher monthly price plus a setup fee.

Common sticking points

  • Prices are tied to a 1-year term. The listed monthly rates assume that term; check the final price at checkout for other periods.
  • BitNinja is included for 1 month, not permanently — factor in renewal if you rely on it.
  • The base configurator price is a starting point. Adding cores, RAM or storage raises the quote, so read the running total before buying.
  • Dedicated servers carry a setup fee (€103.00 on the configuration shown), which VPS plans do not.
