Checking course conditions before you travel

The site gives you three ways to judge conditions, and they answer different questions:

  • Course Status — the club's own statement on whether the course is open or restricted. Check this first, since it reflects the club's decision rather than the forecast.
  • Today's Weather — a link to BBC Weather. Useful for wind, rain, and temperature, but it is a forecast, not a statement about the course.
  • Webcam — a live view. Helpful for seeing actual conditions on the ground, such as frost, standing water, or visibility.

A sensible order is: Course Status, then the Webcam, then the weather. If the status is unclear or you need confirmation for a specific tee time, call 01356 647283.

What else the site helps you find

If your question is not about contact or conditions, the navigation covers the common visitor needs:

  • Visitor Rates and BRS Tee Booking for booking and pricing information
  • Our Courses, Scorecard/Slope Ratings, and Course Flyover for course details
  • Fixtures, Open Competitions, Championships, and Match Play for events
  • Trackman Driving Range and Pace of Play Policy for practice and on-course expectations
  • Membership and 1895 Club Association of James Braid for joining and club history

The site does not publish prices, opening hours, or a guaranteed response time for enquiries in the material available, so confirm anything time-sensitive by phone or email rather than assuming.
