How to Create Your Own Quiz or Content on JetPunk
Updated
You can create a quiz on JetPunk by opening the Create menu and choosing the quiz format you want — Click Quiz, Map Quiz, Multiple Choice, Picture Quiz, Point Clicker, Sudden Death, Text Quiz, or Tile Select. Beyond quizzes, the same menu lets you create charts, word searches, flash cards, and blog posts. You need a JetPunk account to publish, and your work appears in the site's user-created sections, where other players can find and take it.
What you can create
JetPunk splits creation into four groups. Pick the group first, then the specific format.
| Group | Formats available | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Quizzes | Click Quiz, Map Quiz, Multiple Choice, Picture Quiz, Point Clicker, Sudden Death, Text Quiz, Tile Select | Testing knowledge of countries, flags, history, pop culture, or anything with a clear answer set |
| Data and Charts | Charts | Showing ranked or comparative data visually |
| Puzzles | Word Search | Vocabulary and spelling practice in a game format |
| Flash Cards | Flash Cards | Memorization and study sets |
| Blogs | Blog posts | Writing guides, commentary, or quiz announcements |
The quiz formats differ mainly in how the player answers:
- Text Quiz — the player types each answer. Good for name-the-country or name-the-song quizzes.
- Click Quiz — the player clicks the correct item from a set of options on screen.
- Multiple Choice — the player picks one answer from a list of choices.
- Map Quiz — the player clicks locations on a map, which suits geography.
- Picture Quiz — the player identifies items from images.
- Point Clicker — the player clicks specific points on an image or map.
- Tile Select — the player selects the correct tiles from a grid.
- Sudden Death — a format where a wrong answer ends the run.
If you're unsure, start with a Text Quiz or Multiple Choice quiz: they need the least setup and are the easiest to test before publishing.
Step-by-step: creating a quiz
- Create an account or log in. The site's header shows Create Account and Login links; publishing is tied to your account.
- Open the Create menu in the site navigation and choose Create Quiz.
- Pick a quiz type from the list above (for example, New Text Quiz or New Map Quiz).
- Enter your quiz content — the title, the questions or prompts, and the accepted answers. For map and picture formats, you'll also supply the image or map and the clickable targets.
- Preview and test your quiz. Play through it yourself and check that every intended answer is accepted and that no unintended answer slips through.
- Publish. Once submitted, your quiz is listed under user-created quizzes and can be taken by other visitors.
Expected result: your quiz appears on the site with your account credited, and it becomes playable and rateable by other users.
Creating charts, puzzles, flash cards, and blogs
These follow the same pattern — open Create, choose the format, fill in the content, publish:
- Create Chart — enter your data series and labels to produce a chart page under JetPunk Charts.
- Create Word Search — supply the word list; the site generates the puzzle grid.
- Create Flash Cards — add term/definition pairs to build a study set.
- Create Blog — write and publish a post that appears in the user blogs section.
Where your content shows up
User-made content is organized so other players can find it:
- Quizzes appear under User Quizzes, with filters for Most Recent, Highest Rated, and Most Taken.
- Puzzles appear under Recent User Puzzles.
- Flash cards appear under User Flash Cards.
- Blog posts appear under User Blogs, and can be browsed by tag.
Strong user quizzes can be nominated and later spotlighted on the site, which puts them in front of a much larger audience. The homepage's featured quizzes show the kind of content that gets promoted.
Common snags
- Answers rejected during testing. Text quizzes accept only the answers you list. Add common variants (alternate spellings, abbreviations) before publishing.
- Map or picture quizzes not registering clicks. The clickable targets must be placed precisely on the image; re-check each target's position in the editor.
- Can't find the create option. It sits in the Create menu in the main navigation — the same menu that lists Create Account and Login, so make sure you're logged in first.
- Content not appearing publicly. New user quizzes are listed under Most Recent; if yours isn't visible, confirm you completed the publish step rather than only saving a draft.
A note on Premium
JetPunk has a JetPunk Premium page linked from the site. The available site information does not describe what Premium includes or whether it affects quiz creation, so check that page directly if you want to know whether any creation features are gated.
