How to Find a Degree Program on the UniSC Website

Updated

Use the Find a program tool on unisc.edu.au to search or browse UniSC's undergraduate, postgraduate and research programs. You can narrow results by study area and by study location, including online study. The site also lists pathway and bridging programs if you don't yet meet direct entry requirements.

Where the program search lives

The UniSC homepage navigation includes a Study section with a Programs link and a Find a program entry. The same navigation lists Study locations, Online study and Pathways to study, so you can approach the search from either direction: start with a program and check where it's offered, or start with a location and see what's available there.

Step by step

  1. Open the Find a program page. From the homepage menu, go to Study → Find a program. The page is built around two filters: study area and study location.
  2. Choose a study area (optional). The site groups programs under headings such as Arts and Humanities, Business and Commerce, Communication, Creative Industries, Design, Education, Engineering, Environmental Studies, Law and Criminology, Medical and Health Sciences, Nursing and Midwifery, Paramedicine, Psychology and Social Work, Science, Sport and Exercise Science, and Technology. Selecting one narrows the list to that field.
  3. Choose a study location (optional). Locations listed include Sunshine Coast, Moreton Bay, Caboolture, Fraser Coast, Gympie and Online. Picking a location shows only programs available there — useful if you need to stay near a particular campus or want to study remotely.
  4. Open a program page. Each result links to a detail page covering the degree, its structure and how to apply. Use these pages to compare programs on the same criteria rather than on title alone.
  5. Check the level. The Study menu separates Undergraduate, Postgraduate, PhD and Masters by Research, and Headstart (for school students). If you're looking for a research degree, go through the research entry rather than the general program search.

Choosing between browsing and searching

Your situation Better starting point
You know the field but not the degree Filter by study area
You know where you want to study Filter by study location, or open Study locations
You want to study remotely Select Online as the location
You don't meet entry requirements yet Check Pathways to study and bridging programs
You want a research degree Go to Research → PhD and Masters by Research

What to check on each program page

  • Level and duration — confirm it's undergraduate or postgraduate and how long it runs.
  • Location availability — a program listed under one campus may not run at another; the location filter is the quickest check.
  • Pathways — if you're short of the entry standard, the Pathways to study section describes bridging options.
  • Applying, fees and key dates — the Applying menu holds How to apply, Fees, Scholarships, and Key dates and timetables. Read these before committing, since application deadlines and costs sit outside the program page itself.

Common sticking points

  • Filtering too narrowly. Selecting both a study area and a location can return nothing if that combination isn't offered. Clear one filter and try again.
  • Confusing Headstart with undergraduate entry. Headstart is for school students; it appears in the Study menu but isn't a standard degree pathway.
  • Missing online options. Online is a location choice, not a separate menu section, so programs available remotely appear when you select it.
  • Assuming a program runs every intake. Check key dates on the program page rather than assuming a start date.
