How to Find a Specific Course or Program on the UCP Website
Updated
To find a program on ucp.edu.pk, start from the “Find a Course” section on the homepage, which lists programs by level and discipline. Scan or search that list for your subject, then open the program page for details. The list is long and mixes degree levels, so knowing how programs are named will save you time.
Start With the “Find a Course” List
The UCP homepage includes a “Find a Course” section that names programs directly rather than sorting them into a separate catalog. Each entry combines a level prefix with a discipline, for example:
- BS — Bachelor of Science programs such as BS Computer Science, BS Psychology, BS Biotechnology
- BBA / MBA — business administration programs, including graduate and post-ADP routes
- MS / M.Phil. — postgraduate programs such as MS Data Science or M.Phil. Chemistry
- PhD — doctoral programs such as PhD Mechanical Engineering or PhD Linguistics
- Professional degrees — Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) and LL.B (Hons.)
Use your browser’s find function (Ctrl+F or Cmd+F) on the page and type the subject word — “Psychology,” “Data,” “Pharmacy” — to jump to matching entries instead of reading the whole list.
Read Program Names Carefully
UCP lists several entry routes under similar names, so match the name to your background before opening a page:
| Name pattern | What it signals |
|---|---|
| “Post ADP” (e.g., BS Computer Science – Post ADP) | An entry route for applicants holding an Associate Degree Program qualification |
| “Non-Business Graduates” (e.g., MBA-Non Business Graduates) | A graduate business program designed for people whose prior degree was outside business |
| “Business Administration Background” (e.g., BBA – Post ADP) | The counterpart route for applicants with a business background |
| “(3+1 Industry-Integrated Model)” (e.g., BS Chemistry) | A program structured with an industry-integrated year |
If two entries look almost identical, the difference is usually the entry qualification, not the subject. Pick the one that matches your last completed degree.
Check the Relevant Faculty or Department
The “Find a Course” list gives names, not full details. Once you have identified the program, look for the faculty or department listing — for example, computing programs under a computer science faculty, or pharmacy programs under a pharmacy faculty — to confirm curriculum, duration, and admission requirements. The site’s “About UCP” and “Our Community” sections help you understand how the university is organized if the faculty name is not obvious from the program title.
Common Sticking Points
- Same subject, multiple levels. Psychology appears as BS Psychology, MS Clinical Psychology, MS Organizational Psychology, and M.Phil. — check the level prefix first.
- Abbreviated prefixes. “M.Sc.” and “MS” are used for different programs on the same list; read the full entry rather than assuming equivalence.
- Very long list. The page covers dozens of programs across sciences, business, law, media, and engineering; searching by keyword is faster than scrolling.
- Details live elsewhere. The homepage list is an index. Admission criteria, fees, and semester plans are found on the individual program or faculty pages, not in the list itself.
If you cannot find a program by subject name, try the department name instead — some programs are listed under a broader field (for example, food science programs alongside biotechnology and microbiology).
