How to Find News, Announcements, and Events on the AYBU Website

Updated

The AYBU homepage (aybu.edu.tr) organizes current information into four separate sections: News, Announcements, Events, and AYBU in Media. Each section shows a short preview of recent items on the homepage and provides a View All link to the complete list. Announcements and events typically include a date and, for events, a location. Use this guide to go straight to the section you need.

Where each section lives on the homepage

Section What it contains How to see more
News University news such as symposiums, academic-year meetings, and student competition results "View All News" link
Announcements Time-sensitive notices such as application processes, scholarship programs, and platform applications "View All Announcements" link
Events Scheduled activities with date, time, and venue "View All Events" link
AYBU in Media Media coverage mentioning the university Follow the section from the homepage

The homepage also includes a "Sayılarla AYBÜ" (AYBU in numbers) block and quick links to services such as the Career Center, AYBUZEM, the Library, EBYS, and email. These are separate from the news sections.

Step-by-step: finding a specific item

  1. Open aybu.edu.tr. The News, Announcements, and Events blocks appear on the homepage with the most recent entries first.
  2. Scan the preview entries. Each item shows a headline and a date in day.month.year format (for example, 20.10.26).
  3. If the item you want is not in the preview, select View All in that section to open the full list.
  4. For events, read the entry text for the venue. Examples from the homepage include the Etlik Milli İrade Yerleşkesi A Blok, the AYBÜ Türk Musikisi Devlet Konservatuvarı Konferans Salonu, and the AYBÜ Milli İrade Yerleşkesi Büyük Konferans Salonu.
  5. For registration-based events, look for the linked registration form in the entry. One example is the AYBÜ ÖĞMER teacher training event, whose entry says "Kayıt Formu için TIKLAYINIZ" (click for the registration form).

Expected result: you reach either the full section list or the specific item with its date, and where applicable its venue and registration link.

What the entries look like in practice

  • News: "Üniversitemiz İşletme Fakültesi Yönetim Bilişim Sistemleri Bölümü Öğrencilerimiz TEKNOFEST Finansal Teknolojiler Yarışması'nda Birincilik Elde Etti" (20.10.26) describes a student project, OffPay, that aims to keep digital payments running securely even during internet or banking infrastructure outages.
  • Announcements: "İŞKUR Başvuru Süreci ve Kura Çekimi" (20 October 2026, 13:47) and "Dijital Üniversite Platformu için Başvurular Başladı" (19 October 2026, 11:39). Announcements carry a date and time, which helps you judge how urgent an item is.
  • Events: "Beden Dili ve Etkili İletişim" (21 October 2026, 13:00, AYBÜ Türk Musikisi Devlet Konservatuvarı Konferans Salonu). Events carry a date, a start time, and a venue.

Common sticking points

  • The site is mainly in Turkish. Headlines and dates are in Turkish, so use the section labels (News, Announcements, Events) as anchors and translate individual headlines if needed.
  • Dates use the day.month.year order. "20.10.26" means 20 October 2026, not a month/day reading.
  • Some events require advance registration. If an entry includes a registration form link, complete it before the event date rather than simply noting the time and place.
  • Preview lists are short. If you are looking for an older item, go through View All rather than scrolling the homepage.

Which section to check for which need

  • Looking for a scholarship or application window? Check Announcements first, since these entries carry precise timestamps.
  • Planning to attend something on campus? Check Events for the date, time, and venue.
  • Looking for research, awards, or institutional developments? Check News.
  • Checking whether the university appeared in outside press? Check AYBU in Media.
