How to Find Upcoming Plant Pathology Events on phytopath.ca
Updated
The Canadian Phytopathological Society (CPS) lists its upcoming conferences and meetings in the Events section of phytopath.ca. Each entry shows the event name, date, and time, with a "View Detail" link for more information. If the initial list doesn't show what you need, a Load More button at the bottom of the section reveals additional events.
Where the Events Section Lives
The Events section sits on the CPS homepage alongside Publications and Announcements. You don't need to log in or navigate to a separate calendar page — the listings appear directly on the home page as part of the site's main content.
What Each Event Listing Tells You
Every event entry follows the same format:
- Event name — for example, "International SPS Symposium" or "47th Plant Pathology Society of Alberta (PPSA) meeting"
- Date range — such as "14 - 16 October" or "05 - 06 November"
- Time — either "All Day" or specific hours like "7:00 pm - 2:00 pm"
- View Detail link — opens the full event page
The listing also includes share buttons (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Email) so you can forward an event to colleagues.
Examples of Listed Events
Based on the current homepage, the Events section has shown entries such as:
| Event | Date | Time |
|---|---|---|
| International SPS Symposium | 14 – 16 October | All Day |
| 47th Plant Pathology Society of Alberta (PPSA) meeting | 27 – 29 October | 7:00 pm – 2:00 pm |
| Congrès SPPQ 2026 – Phytoprotection 2.0 | 05 – 06 November | 8:00 am – 6:00 pm |
These examples illustrate the range of events CPS promotes: international symposia, regional society meetings, and francophone plant protection conferences.
How to See More Events
If the visible list doesn't cover the period you're interested in, click Load More at the bottom of the Events section. This expands the list to show additional entries. If no further events are available, the section displays "No event found!" — which means there are currently no more listings to load, not that the site is broken.
Checking for Updates
Event listings change over time. The Announcements section below Events also carries news posts — for example, meeting announcements like "2027 CPS-SK meeting" or "2027 CPS CSA meeting" — which can point to events not yet in the main Events list. Checking both sections gives you the fullest picture of what's coming up.
What You Won't Find Here
The Events section lists plant pathology meetings and conferences. It does not provide registration forms, abstract submission portals, or travel information directly — those details, if available, would be behind the "View Detail" link for each event. The homepage itself is a listing and navigation layer, not a full event management system.
