How to Follow Rochester Americans News and Game-Day Coverage

Updated

You can follow Rochester Americans news and game-day coverage directly on amerks.com through two main sections: News & Media for written and video updates, and Game Night for roster notes, promotions, and live listening or viewing links. This guide covers where each item lives on the site and what you'll find there, based on the site's own navigation and page content.

News & Media: Written and Video Coverage

The News & Media section is the site's hub for ongoing coverage. Its menu lists:

  • Latest News — current articles about the team. The homepage surfaces these as headlines, such as "AMERKS LOOK TO SWEEP WEEKEND IN BELLEVILLE" and "AMERKS TAKE DOWN DEFENDING CHAMPS ON OPENING NIGHT," each with a "More Info" link to the full story.
  • Latest Videos — video content from the team.
  • AHL News — league-wide news, useful if you want context beyond Rochester.
  • Sabres News — coverage of the affiliated NHL club.

If you only want one thing, start with Latest News: it's where game recaps and previews appear first.

Game Night: Roster Notes and Promotions

The Game Night menu groups the practical, game-specific information:

  • Game Notes & Roster — notes and the roster for that night's game.
  • Game Promos — the promotion tied to a specific game.
  • What Your Ticket Can Get You — perks associated with your ticket.
  • Blue Cross Arena Info — venue information.
  • Parking Information — where to park.

This is the section to check on the day of a game rather than in advance, since notes and rosters are tied to a specific matchup.

Listening and Watching

Two options are listed on the site:

  • Listen Live — audio coverage.
  • AHLTV on FloHockey — the streaming option for AHL games.

The site does not state pricing, login requirements, or regional restrictions for either option, so check each link directly for current access terms.

Scores, Schedule, and Standings

For results and upcoming games, use Game Center, which includes Last Game and Upcoming Games. The homepage shows a recent result in this format:

Team 1st 2nd 3rd OT SO F
Away 1 0 1 0 0 2
Home 1 1 0 0 1 3

Upcoming games appear with date, time, and home/away designation, and home games include a Buy Tickets link. Related pages include Schedule (with a printable version and calendar import), Stats, and Standings.

Social Media and Photos

The site links to these accounts and channels:

  • Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube — follow @AmerksHockey on Twitter for updates.
  • Flickr — Amerks photos.

A Practical Routine

If you want to stay current without checking everything:

  1. Daily or post-game: read Latest News for recaps and previews.
  2. On game day: open Game Night for Game Notes & Roster and Game Promos.
  3. To watch or listen: use Listen Live or AHLTV on FloHockey.
  4. For scores and what's next: check Game Center and Schedule.

One caveat: the site's navigation is the source of truth here. Menu labels and link availability can change during a season, so if a link doesn't behave as described, look for it under the same section heading rather than assuming it's gone.
