How to Join NUSPS or Contact the Society

Updated

To join NUSPS (The Photographic Society of NUS) or reach the committee, use the Membership page on nusps.org.sg for joining details and the Contact Us page for enquiries. Both are listed in the site's main navigation, alongside About Us, Montage, Previous MCs, and Recent Posts. The site does not publish membership fees, sign-up deadlines, or a direct email address in the available page content, so the Membership and Contact Us pages are the places to confirm those details.

Joining NUSPS

The Membership page is the society's own channel for joining information. Start there rather than relying on event posts, which describe activities but not registration terms.

  1. Open nusps.org.sg and select Membership from the navigation menu.
  2. Read the joining details on that page and follow the instructions it gives for signing up.
  3. If the page leaves anything unclear — eligibility, fees, or commitment — send your question through the Contact Us page before signing up.

The site does not state whether membership is limited to NUS students or open to others, so treat that as something to confirm with the committee.

Contacting the Society

The Contact Us page is the general enquiry route for questions about membership, events, or the society itself. The site content does not list a published email address or phone number, so use the contact form or details provided on that page.

For context on who runs the society, the Previous MCs section lists past Management Committees, including the 55th, 53rd, 52nd, 51st, 50th, and 49th committees. This is useful if you want to know the society's history or recognise current and former officeholders, but it is not a contact channel.

What the Society Does

Knowing the activity calendar helps you decide whether to join and what to ask about.

  • Montage, the society's annual showcase, runs each year under a theme. Recent editions include Montage 2026: Connections, Montage 2025: Past, Present, and Future, Montage 2024: Perspectives, and earlier themes such as Change (2021) and Our National Identity (2019). The Montage 2024 submissions closed on July 25, 2024, with judging in the following weeks and winners contacted in early August.
  • Photowalks are regular outings. Examples from 2024 include a Joo Chiat Photowalk on 20 April (9:00–12:00, with gear provided and loaned on a first-come basis), a Central Business District Photowalk with guest speaker Nikko Pascua, and a Chinese New Year photowalk in Chinatown.
  • Light Talks are sharing sessions; Light Talks 3 – Travel Photography was held on 5 April 2024, 19:00–21:00, at Town Plaza Seminar Room 9, with participants invited to share their own travel photographs.

These examples show the kind of programming you would be joining. Event posts are the best source for dates and venues, while Membership and Contact Us remain the routes for joining and questions.
