How to Join or Renew Membership with the Edmonton & District Quilters' Guild (EDQG)

Updated

EDQG membership is open to anyone with an interest in quilting, and the guild's website provides a "Join or Renew your Membership!" entry point along with an "Information for New Members" page. To join or renew, use those links on edqg.ca; for specifics on dues, form requirements, or renewal timing, email [email protected], since the published page does not list fees or a step-by-step signup process.

What EDQG Is

The Edmonton & District Quilters' Guild (EDQG) is a non-profit organization founded in 1979 (Incorporation # 50209293). It began with 35 members and has grown to over 200. Its stated objectives are to:

  • Contribute to the knowledge of and promote appreciation of fine quilts
  • Sponsor and support quilting activities
  • Encourage quilt making and collecting
  • Grow knowledge of quilting techniques, textiles, patterns, history, and quilt-makers through educational meetings, travel, and fellowship

The guild is run by volunteers. It is a member of the Focus on Fibre Art Association (FFAA), and EDQG members may access programs and workshops offered by FFAA.

Steps to Join or Renew

  1. Go to edqg.ca.
  2. Use the "Join or Renew your Membership!" link on the site.
  3. If you are new, review the "Information for New Members" page before completing your signup.
  4. If you have questions about eligibility, renewal status, or the process, contact [email protected].

The site also shows "Login," "Profile," and "Create an Account" options, which suggests an online account is part of the membership flow. The published page does not describe the exact form fields or payment steps, so confirm details with the membership contact rather than assuming.

Contact and Mailing Address

  • Email: [email protected] (general); [email protected] (membership and Zoom access)
  • Mail: Edmonton & District Quilters' Guild, PO BOX 68004 RPO BONNIE DOON, Edmonton, AB T6C 4N6

Common Pitfalls

  • Assuming in-person meetings: through January 2027, meetings are Zoom-only due to ATA renovations.
  • Showing up in a dark month: there are no monthly meetings in December, July, or August.
  • Guessing at fees: the public page does not state dues or payment methods; ask [email protected] before budgeting.
  • Missing the Zoom link: remote attendance requires contacting the membership email, so arrange it before the meeting date.
