How to Look Up a Minecraft Item, Mob, Block, or Biome on Minecraft Search
Updated
Type the name into the search box on the homepage, or browse the Items, Blocks, Mobs, and World categories below it. Every entry page covers crafting recipes, drops, trades, spawn info, and stats for both Java and Bedrock, so you can check a single lookup against the edition you actually play. The site runs in the browser with no downloads, and the reference covers 2,000+ entries.
Search directly for a specific entry
The fastest path when you already know what you want:
- Open minecraftsearch.com. The search field sits under the heading "Find any Minecraft item, mob, block or biome."
- Type the name of the item, mob, block, biome, or structure — for example
diamond, axolotl, orcherry grove. - Open the matching entry. Expect crafting recipes, drops, trades, spawn information, and stats on the same page.
- Confirm the edition. Entries state Java and Bedrock values separately, so read the line that matches your version rather than assuming one number fits both.
The site states it covers Java 26.3 and Bedrock 1.26.51. If you play a different version, treat recipe and stat details as a starting point and verify in-game.
Browse by category instead
If you only know roughly what you're after, the Browse content section splits everything into four groups:
| Category | What it holds | Example from the listing |
|---|---|---|
| Items | Tools, wearables, and other inventory items | Axe (8 variants), Hoe (8 variants), Bundle, Harness |
| Blocks | Placeable blocks | — |
| Mobs | Creatures and their behavior | — |
| World | Biomes and structures | — |
The listing shows 951 results in default order, with Items alone at 323. Entries with variants collapse into a single expandable row — "Axe + 7" opens to Stone, Wooden, Iron, Golden, Diamond, Netherite, and Copper Axe. Use Collapse all to fold the list back down when it gets long.
What each entry page tells you
Per the site's own description, an entry covers:
- Crafting recipes — what to combine and in what arrangement
- Drops — what a mob or block yields
- Trades — villager or other trade offers where relevant
- Spawn info — where a mob appears
- Stats — numeric properties for the entry
Both editions are covered on every entry, so you don't need a separate lookup per version.
When you need more than a reference page
Some lookups lead into the site's tools rather than a plain entry:
- Seed Map — preview biomes, structures, slime chunks, and spawn across the Overworld, Nether, and End for a given seed.
- Seed Finder — set structures and biomes as criteria, pick your edition, and copy a matching seed.
- Ore Finder / Structure Finder / Biome Finder — mark ores, structures, or biome patches on a visual map of your seed, each with its own accuracy note.
- Enchantment Tool — find the cheapest anvil order for combining books and gear.
- Command Generator — build
/giveand/summoncommands for Java 26.3 and Bedrock 1.26.51. - Crafting Calculator — work out raw materials, smelting steps, and stack counts for an item.
- Text Studio — generate color codes, hex gradients, and formatted sign text in five copy formats.
All of these run in the browser for both editions, with no downloads. The interface is available in 28 languages.
Common snags
- Edition mismatch. A recipe or stat that looks wrong is often the other edition's value. Check which edition line you're reading.
- Version drift. Java 26.3 and Bedrock 1.26.51 are the stated targets; older or newer versions may differ.
- Variant entries. If a search returns a collapsed parent row like "Harness + 16," expand it to reach the specific color or material you want.
- Long result lists. The full browse view runs to 951 entries — search or use Collapse all rather than scrolling.
