How to Register and Post on forum.vekn.de
Updated
forum.vekn.de is the German VTES community forum. To participate, open the board index, use the Register link to create an account, then use Login to sign in. Once logged in, you can open a board and start or reply to a topic. The board index also exposes Search, FAQ, Unanswered topics, and Active topics links, which are the fastest way to find existing discussions before posting.
Before you register
The forum is a phpBB-style board. Its visible entry points are on the board index:
- Login — for existing accounts
- Register — to create a new account
- Search / Advanced search — find existing threads
- FAQ — basic board usage information
- Contact us — reach the administration
- Quick links — shortcuts such as Unanswered topics and Active topics
Registration is the only way to post. Reading the board index and public topics does not require an account, but posting and replying do.
Step-by-step: register and log in
- Open
forum.vekn.dein a browser. You land on the board index. - Click Register in the top navigation area.
- Complete the registration form. The forum does not publish its exact field list or password rules on the board index, so fill in what the form asks for and follow any on-screen requirements.
- Submit the form. Depending on the board's configuration, you may need to confirm your email address or wait for account activation before you can log in.
- Return to the board index and click Login.
- Enter your username and password. After a successful login, your name appears in the header and posting controls become available inside each board.
If login fails, the two most common causes are an unconfirmed email address and a mistyped username or password. Use Contact us if the account appears locked.
Finding the right board
The index is organised into sections. Choosing the correct board matters, because each one has a defined purpose:
| Section | Board | Use it for |
|---|---|---|
| Info für neue Spieler | Herzlich Willkommen | First information for new or interested players |
| Info für neue Spieler | Suche Spieler oder offiziellen Ansprechpartner | Finding play partners or an official contact |
| Info für neue Spieler | Neue Forenmitglieder | Introducing yourself as a new member |
| Allgemeines | V:TES Allgemein | General VTES topics, including upcoming products |
| Allgemeines | Ressourcen | VTES websites, deck-building tools, proxy tools, rulebooks |
| Allgemeines | Succubus Club | Trading, buying, and selling cards, plus webshop links |
| Beratung | Regelfragen | Rules and card questions |
| Beratung | Strategie und Taktik | Playing to win, exchanging experience with other players |
There is also an archived general VTES forum section, which is read-only in practice — its last visible activity dates to 2022.
Step-by-step: start a new topic
- From the board index, click the name of the board you want (for example Regelfragen for a rules question).
- Inside the board, click the button for a new topic. In phpBB boards this is normally labelled New Topic or the German equivalent.
- Enter a subject line that states the question or topic clearly.
- Write the post body. For a rules question, include the card names and the situation; for a strategy post, describe your deck or table situation.
- Submit the post. It then appears at the top of that board's topic list.
To reply instead of starting a new thread, open an existing topic and use the reply control at the bottom of the thread.
Step-by-step: search before posting
Because the rules board alone holds over 700 topics and more than 5,000 posts, searching first usually gets you an answer faster than a new thread:
- Click Search or Advanced search on the board index.
- Enter keywords — card names work well as search terms.
- Optionally restrict the search to a specific board, such as Regelfragen.
- Open the matching threads and read them.
Two quick links help you pick where to contribute:
- Unanswered topics — threads with no replies yet; good targets if you can help.
- Active topics — recently active threads; good for joining current discussion.
Practical notes for new players
- Introduce yourself in Neue Forenmitglieder first. It is the lowest-pressure way to make your first post and to become visible to regulars.
- If you are looking for people to play with, post in Suche Spieler oder offiziellen Ansprechpartner rather than in a rules board.
- Read the FAQ and use Contact us for account or moderation issues instead of posting them publicly.
- The board index shows a "last post" author and date for every board, so you can see how active a section is before investing time in a long post.
- The forum language is German, but the new-player section explicitly carries an English label ("Info for new players"), so English-language introductions are reasonable there.
