How to Register and Start Posting on Anime UK News Forums

Updated

To post on Anime UK News Forums, you need an account: use the Register link in the site header to create one, then log in. Once logged in, you can start a new thread or reply in sections such as Anime & Manga, Off Topic, and Anime UK News. Before posting, browse New posts or use Search to check whether a discussion already exists. The forum also warns that JavaScript must be enabled for the site to work properly.

Before you register

  • A working browser with JavaScript enabled. The forum displays a notice that JavaScript is disabled and asks visitors to enable it for a better experience. It also flags out-of-date browsers and suggests upgrading.
  • A topic in mind. The forum is organised into sections, so knowing where your post belongs saves time later.

Step 1: Create an account

  1. Open the forum homepage.
  2. Select Register in the header menu (it sits next to Log in).
  3. Complete the registration form and submit it.

The homepage excerpt does not describe the individual registration fields or any email-confirmation step, so follow whatever the form asks for. If registration does not complete, first check that JavaScript is enabled and your browser is current, since the site explicitly names both as requirements for correct display.

Step 2: Log in

Return to the header and select Log in, then enter the details you registered with. The header switches to show your account options once you are signed in.

Step 3: Find the right section

The forum's main sections, as listed on the homepage, are:

Section What it covers
Anime & Manga Parent section containing the boards below
Anime News & Rumours News and rumours about the UK anime community and beyond
Anime Industry Discussion Upcoming releases and legal ways to watch anime
General Anime Chit-Chat Anime chat that doesn't fit elsewhere
Anime Simulwatches and Streaming Discussions Streaming episodes and organised simulwatches; episode threads contain spoilers
General Manga Chit-Chat Manga discussion, reviews and rants
Creative Arena Drawings, fan videos and creative writing
Conventions, Events & Websites Conventions, fanclubs and site plugs
Anime & Manga Marketplace Buying, selling and trading anime, manga and merchandise
Off Topic Non-anime discussion
Anime UK News Site-related board

Pick the section that matches your topic. For example, a question about a UK distributor's release belongs in Anime Industry Discussion, while a general recommendation request fits General Anime Chit-Chat.

Step 4: Check for an existing thread first

Before starting a new thread:

  • Open New posts to see recent activity across the forum.
  • Use Search to look for your topic. The search panel supports searching titles only and has an Advanced search option.

This matters in busy boards: Anime News & Rumours alone shows around 10.1K threads and 115.1K messages, and General Anime Chit-Chat around 3.1K threads and 148.8K messages. A quick search is faster than a duplicate thread that gets merged or ignored.

Step 5: Start a thread or reply

  • To start a thread, use the Post thread... action shown on the forum index and choose the section you want.
  • To reply, open an existing thread and add your message there.

The homepage excerpt does not spell out the exact editor buttons, so use the posting controls presented on the page you land on.

Common snags

  • The site looks broken or menus don't respond. Enable JavaScript and update your browser; the forum names both as causes of incorrect display.
  • You can read but not post. Posting requires an account, so register and log in first.
  • You can't find your topic. Try different search terms, or browse the section list above rather than the whole forum.
  • You're unsure where a post belongs. Choose the closest section; the descriptions in the table are taken from the forum's own section summaries.

A quick example

Suppose you want to ask whether a particular series is available legally in the UK. Search first for the title; if nothing relevant appears, open Anime Industry Discussion and start a thread there, since that board is described as covering upcoming releases and legal ways to watch anime. If you simply want to chat about the show, General Anime Chit-Chat is the better fit.
