How to Register for MPCF Events and Stay Informed About Upcoming Activities
Updated
To register for an MPCF event, open the event listing on mpcf.org and look for the "** Open for registration **" note next to the event name, then follow that event's registration link. To stay informed, subscribe to the MPCF mailing list. The center's site also lists its weekly calendar, workshops, classes, retreats, and support options (donations and sponsorship).
Find an event and check its registration status
MPCF's site presents upcoming activities in a single list. Each entry shows the event type, date and time (Eastern Time), location (online via Zoom or in person), and whether registration is open.
| Event | Status shown | Date and time | Format / location |
|---|---|---|---|
| Online Mindfulness Workshop | ** Open for registration ** | Saturday, October 24, 2026, 9:00 AM–2:00 PM ET | Online via Zoom |
| "Five Mindfulness Trainings" Class | ** Open for registration ** | Six Thursday evenings starting October 22, 2026, 7:00–9:15 PM ET (no class Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 26) | Online |
| Mindful Nature Walk | No registration note shown | Sunday, October 25, 2026, 1:00–4:00 PM ET | In person, Brookside Gardens, 1800 Glenallen Ave, Wheaton, MD 20902 |
| In-Person Mindfulness Workshop | ** To be scheduled ** | Not yet set | In person, Chapel of UUCF |
| Online Deep Relaxation and Healing Movements Class | ** To be scheduled ** | Not yet set | Online |
Two events are explicitly marked open for registration. Two are marked "to be scheduled," which means no date is fixed yet — check back or watch the mailing list rather than trying to register now. The nature walk entry shows a date and meeting place but no registration note in the listing, so confirm details on the event page before traveling.
Regular sessions that need no listed registration
MPCF also runs ongoing meditation sessions:
- Morning sessions: Tuesday to Friday, 7:00–8:00 AM ET
- Evening session: Thursday, 7:00–9:00 PM ET
These appear as standing sessions rather than one-off registrations. If you plan to attend, use the site's contact or calendar pages to confirm access details, especially for online sessions.
Step-by-step: registering for an open event
- Go to mpcf.org and open the upcoming events list (the home page shows it, and the site navigation includes a weekly calendar plus classes & events pages).
- Find the event marked "** Open for registration **" — for example, the Online Mindfulness Workshop on October 24, 2026.
- Open that event's page and follow its registration instructions. The listing gives the date, time zone (Eastern Time), and platform (Zoom for online events), so you know what to expect.
- Note the schedule commitment before registering: the Five Mindfulness Trainings class runs six Thursday evenings, 7:00–9:15 PM ET, and skips Nov. 26.
- For in-person events, confirm the venue address — the nature walk lists Brookside Gardens in Wheaton, MD, and the in-person workshop is held in the Chapel of UUCF.
Expected result: you receive confirmation for the specific event you registered for. Registration for one event does not automatically enroll you in others, and "to be scheduled" events cannot be registered for until a date appears.
Stay informed: the mailing list and calendar
- Subscribe to the MPCF Mailing List: the site's Email List section has a subscribe link. This is the direct way to hear about newly scheduled events, including the two workshops currently marked "to be scheduled."
- Unsubscribe: the same section includes an unsubscribe link if you no longer want updates.
- Weekly calendar and events pages: use these to check the current schedule of regular sessions and one-time events before you go.
Supporting MPCF
The site lists two support options under "Support MPCF": Contributions & Donations and Become a Sponsor of MPCF. These are separate from event registration — donating or sponsoring does not register you for a class. The site does not publish prices or payment details in the material available here, so check the donation and sponsorship pages directly for amounts and methods.
Common sticking points
- "To be scheduled" is not open registration. If an event has no date, there is nothing to register for yet; the mailing list is the reliable way to learn when it is set.
- Time zone matters. All listed times are Eastern Time. The morning sessions run 7:00–8:00 AM ET, which is early if you are in another time zone.
- Online vs. in person. Online workshops use Zoom; in-person events have fixed addresses. Confirm which format you are signing up for before the day.
- No registration note does not mean no registration. Some listings, like the nature walk, show full details but no status line — verify on the event page rather than assuming you can simply show up.
