How to Start Contributing to the Official Geometry Dash Wiki
Updated
You can start contributing by registering an account, reading the Community Portal for orientation, and then editing existing pages or creating new ones that follow the wiki's article creation policy. The Official Geometry Dash Wiki is a community-run information hub for base-game and community content, with 852 articles and over 203,302 edits accumulated since 14 January 2014. If you only want to read, no account is needed; if you want your contributions tracked and want to create pages, registration is the practical first step.
Register and set up your account
- Create an account on the wiki. The site explicitly invites you to "Register to edit and track your contributions," so an account is what ties edits to your name and history.
- Adjust the reading/editing theme if you prefer. Use the Appearance button in the header, or the moon icon on mobile.
- Learn the navigation. On desktop, the left sidebar lists all articles by category; on mobile, use the floating list button.
Expected result: you can log in, see your contribution history, and move around the wiki by category rather than by search alone.
Read the orientation material first
Before editing, visit the Community Portal, which the wiki describes as the place for "tips on starting out." This is where new contributors are expected to pick up the conventions the community already uses, so you don't have to guess at formatting or scope.
Also review the site policy and the article creation policy and proposal. These govern what belongs on the wiki and how new pages are approved, so reading them first saves you from rework.
Edit an existing page
- Open any unlocked article and use the edit option.
- If a page is locked from being edited, you can still submit edits for review. This is the intended path when a page is protected — you are not blocked from contributing, only from publishing directly.
Expected result: your change either goes live (unlocked page) or enters a review queue (locked page).
Create a new page
- Use the Create a new page link in the Tools box at the end of the sidebar.
- Follow the article creation policy and the proposal process before publishing.
- Check the Project Board for pages the community has flagged as missing — for example, articles missing from the Gauntlets list and from the Map Packs list (the board notes 5 Harder and 26 Dem… entries as gaps).
Expected result: a new article that fits the wiki's scope and has gone through the required proposal step, rather than an orphan page that gets removed.

Practical notes before you dive in
- The wiki is independent and community-controlled. Its own text asks readers to support wiki communities "whose prospective viewers are misled by corporate wiki hosts," and points to the wiki.gg Redirect and Indie Wiki Buddy extensions as ways to control which wiki you land on. That context matters if you arrive from a search engine and want to be sure you're editing the right site.
- The wiki also links to partner resources — JB for main level videos, GD Archives for user level videos, Geometry Dash Browser for real-time GD server data by GD Colon, and a Geometry Dash Font Generator — which are useful references when writing level or icon articles.
- Featured content such as the Demon List (currently topped by Society, Thinking Space II, Amethyst, Flamewall, and Tidal Wave) shows the kind of up-to-date, ranked information the community maintains; if you contribute in that area, expect to keep entries current rather than write once.
Start with a small edit on an unlocked page, then move to a Project Board gap once you're comfortable with the policy. That sequence keeps your first contributions reviewable and useful.
