How to Submit or Edit a Polka Event on Polka Concerts
Updated
Polka Concerts (polkaconcerts.com) provides two dedicated entry points for event organizers: Submit a Dance or Event and Edit Your Events. To submit a new polka dance, concert, or festival, use the Submit link and provide the event details; to change something you already posted, use the Edit link. Both actions are tied to a user account, so you will need to register or log in before your submission can be managed. The site's own navigation lists these links alongside the Polka Event Calendar, which is where approved events appear for visitors to search.
Before you start
- An account is required. The site navigation includes Register and Login links, and the Edit Your Events page only makes sense for a logged-in submitter. If you have not registered yet, do that first.
- Have your event details ready. The calendar's advanced search filters show the fields the site organizes events by, so gather the same information in advance:
- Event name and category
- Date (and multi-day range, if applicable)
- Location: country, state, and address
- Contact or organizer information
- A description of the event
- Know the categories. The calendar's Category filter lists the event types the site recognizes, including: Bus Tours, Carnivals, Charity Event, Christmas Event, Church Event, Club Meeting, Concert, CPA Meetings, Cruise, Dance, Dinner, Dyngus Day, Fairs, Festivals, Golf Outing, IPA Meetings, Live Broadcast, Live Recording, Octoberfest, Picnic, Polka Mass, Polka TV Show, Polka Vacation, Polka Weekend, Polkas in the Park, Shopping, Street Fair, and Tours and Vacations. Picking the closest match helps people find your event.
How to submit a new polka event
- Log in to your Polka Concerts account. If you do not have one, use the Register link first.
- Open the "Submit a Dance or Event" page from the site navigation.
- Fill in the event form. Enter the event name, choose a category from the list above, set the date or date range, and add the location (country, state, and address). Add a description and any contact details you want published.
- Submit the form. Your event is then queued for the calendar.
- Verify it appears. Go to the Polka Event Calendar and search for your event by name, date, or location. If it does not show up, check that you were logged in when you submitted and that all required fields were completed.
Once listed, your event becomes searchable by other visitors using the calendar's filters: search near a location, filter by country, state, distance (5, 10, 25, 50, or 100 miles/kilometers), category, or date, and switch between List, Grouped Lists, Grid, Map, and Calendar views.
How to edit an event you already submitted
- Log in with the same account you used to submit the event.
- Open the "Edit Your Events" page from the navigation.
- Select the event you want to change from your list of submissions.
- Update the fields — date, location, category, description, or contact details — and save your changes.
- Re-check the calendar to confirm the updated information is showing.
Common snags
- "No Events" in the calendar. The calendar can return no results if your search filters are too narrow — for example, a small distance radius around a location with nothing nearby. Widen the distance or clear the filters and search again.
- Event not appearing after submission. Confirm you were logged in, that the date is in the future, and that you selected a category. Events tied to an account are the ones you can later edit.
- Editing a listing you did not create. The Edit Your Events page is account-based, so you can only manage events submitted under your own login. If someone else posted your event, contact the site through its About Us or Advertising pages rather than trying to edit it yourself.
