How to Use Check PvP to Look Up a WoW Player's PvP Rating, Season Stats, and Alts

Check PvP (check-pvp.fr) is a World of Warcraft PvP lookup tool. You enter a character name and realm, open that player's profile, and read their rating history, season stats, achievement dates, peak ratings, and alt characters. It also provides search filters so you can narrow results by season, spec, or bracket (2v2, 3v3, solo shuffle, rated battlegrounds). Use it when you want a quick read on a player's PvP record before a match, when you're checking your own progress, or when you're trying to find someone's alts.

Before You Search

You need two pieces of information:

  • Character name — the exact in-game name, including capitalization and any special characters.
  • Realm — the server the character is on. Realm names matter because the same character name can exist on many realms.

Check PvP covers World of Warcraft PvP data, so the player you're looking up must have participated in rated PvP (arena, rated battlegrounds, or solo shuffle) for meaningful stats to appear. A character with no rated games will have little or no history to show.

Step-by-Step: Looking Up a Player

  1. Go to check-pvp.fr. The site opens on its main search interface.
  2. Enter the character name in the search field.
  3. Select the realm for that character. If you're unsure of the realm, you can often start typing the name and let the tool suggest matching characters.
  4. Open the profile from the results. The profile page is where all the data lives.
  5. Read the profile sections (see below) to find the rating, season stats, peak rating, achievement dates, and alts.

Expected result: a profile page showing that character's PvP history. If nothing comes back, jump to the troubleshooting section.

Reading a Player's Profile

Once the profile loads, these are the pieces worth knowing:

Section What it tells you
Rating history How the player's rating moved over time, not just the current number
Season stats Performance within a specific season — games, wins, rating
Peak rating The highest rating the character reached, useful for judging a player's ceiling vs. current form
Achievement dates When PvP achievements were earned, which helps date a player's activity
Alt characters Other characters linked to the same player

The distinction between current rating and peak rating matters. A player sitting at a modest rating right now may have a much higher peak from an earlier season, or vice versa. Check both before drawing conclusions.

Using Search Filters

Check PvP's filters let you cut through noise:

  • By season — view stats for a specific season instead of a blended history.
  • By spec — see how a player performs on a particular specialization.
  • By bracket — separate 2v2, 3v3, solo shuffle, and rated battlegrounds results.

This is useful when a player's overall profile looks strong but you want to know how they actually perform in your bracket. A great 3v3 player isn't automatically a great solo shuffle player, and the filters let you check that directly.

Finding and Distinguishing Alts

The alt character list shows other characters tied to the same player. When you open it:

  • Identify the main — usually the character with the most games, the highest rating, or the most achievement history.
  • Compare per character — each alt has its own rating and season stats. Don't assume an alt's numbers match the main's.
  • Use alts to verify identity — if you're confirming whether two characters are the same person, the alt list is the fastest way.

When You Can't Find a Player

If a search returns nothing, check these in order:

  1. Realm spelling — realm names are easy to mistype, and connected realms can complicate this. Double-check the exact realm.
  2. Region — make sure you're searching the correct region (NA/EU/etc.). A character on an EU realm won't appear in an NA search.
  3. Character rename or transfer — if the player renamed or moved realms, the old name won't resolve. Try the new name or realm.
  4. No rated activity — a character that hasn't played rated PvP may have no profile data to show.
  5. Special characters — names with accents or unusual characters must be entered exactly.

Practical Uses

  • Scouting before a match — check an opponent's bracket-specific rating and peak to gauge what you're up against.
  • Tracking your own progress — compare your current rating against your peak and season history.
  • Verifying identity — use the alt list to confirm whether characters belong to the same player.

Check PvP is a lookup and history tool, not a live in-game overlay, so treat the data as a record of past performance rather than a real-time snapshot.
