How to View AICAN's Artwork Online

Updated

You can view AICAN's artwork directly on aican.io through its Virtual Gallery and Gallery sections. The site is the official home of AICAN, described there as "an Artificial Intelligence Artist and a Collaborative Creative Partner," and it hosts collections including the first AICAN collection from 2017 and a January 2018 collection.

Where to Find the Artwork

The site's navigation lists these main sections:

  • Home – landing page with an introduction to the concept
  • Art – artwork-related content
  • Virtual Gallery – the primary online viewing space for AICAN's pieces
  • Collaborations – joint projects
  • Exhibitions – exhibition information
  • Media – press and media coverage

For simply looking at the art, start with Virtual Gallery. If you want to browse the collections by series, use the Gallery section, which shows the 2017 first collection and the January 2018 collection.

What You'll See

AICAN's stated concept is that each artwork answers the question: "If we teach the machine about art and styles and push it to generate novel images that do not follow established styles, what would it generate?" The site presents the work as "Art of the Future, Now."

The homepage also collects press reactions to the work, including quotes from the Boston Globe, IFLScience, Hyperallergic, New Scientist, and Artsy. These give context on how the artwork has been received, but the images themselves are in the gallery sections.

Practical Notes

  • No login is mentioned on the site for viewing the gallery, so browsing appears to be open.
  • The site uses cookies; a banner states that continuing to browse assumes you accept their use, with an Accept option and a Learn More link.
  • A Contact form (Name, Email, Message) is available if you want to reach out.
  • The site notes U.S. Pat. No. 10,853,986.

If your goal is to see the artwork, go straight to Virtual Gallery; if you want the collection-by-collection view, use Gallery.
