EnglishIs Checkersland free to use?
Updated
Yes. Checkersland describes its offerings as "different kinds of free checkers programs and services," and the site lists no paid tier, subscription, or payment requirement. You can download and use its programs, including the PC and Android versions, without paying.
What the site says about cost
The only pricing-related statement on the Checkersland homepage is that it "provides different kinds of free checkers programs and services." There are no pricing links, no payment platforms, and no mention of subscriptions, premium accounts, or in-app purchases anywhere in the available page content.
That means the free claim is stated directly by the site itself — it is not an inference from missing information.
What you get for free
| Offering | Platform | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Checkersland PC | Windows, Linux, macOS, Solaris | The most powerful version; supports more than 20 kinds of checkers and online play against other people |
| Checkersland Android | Android | Listed alongside the PC program on the main page |
| Online play | Web / internet | Play checkers with the computer or with other people over the Internet |
The current PC release is version 2025.10.18, published by Pavel Porvatov.
What "free" does and does not cover here
- Covered: downloading and running the programs, and playing against the computer or other people online.
- Not addressed: the page says nothing about account registration, usage limits, ads, or whether any future features might be paid. Since no payment method or pricing page exists in the available content, there is no evidence of a paid tier — but also no explicit statement about limits.
If a paid option is ever introduced, it would not appear in the current page content, so treat "free" as accurate for what the site describes today.
Practical takeaway
If your goal is simply to play checkers without spending money, Checkersland is a reasonable choice: the site presents its programs and services as free, and nothing in the available material contradicts that. For the widest feature set — more than 20 checkers variants plus online multiplayer — the PC version is the one to start with.
