Is thispersonnotexist.org Free, and Do I Need to Sign Up?

Updated

Yes. thispersonnotexist.org is free to use and requires no signup. You get 8 AI-generated faces per click at 1024x1024 HD, with no daily cap and no queue, and downloads cost nothing. The tool runs online only, so there is nothing to install, and it works the same way on a phone as on a desktop. The only thing you need is a browser.

What "Free" Actually Covers

The site's own description is direct about this: "Downloads are free with no signup." That applies to the faces you generate and save, whether you take them at 512x512 or full HD.

There is no model to pay, because nobody in the photos is real. Every face comes from StyleGAN3, so the output looks realistic but the person does not exist. That also means there is no release form to sign and no licensing fee attached to the image itself.

What You Get Without an Account

Feature What it does
8 faces per click Each generation returns 8 photos at once
Resolution 1024x1024 HD, or save at 512x512
Reload Pulls 8 new faces, no daily cap, no queue
Tabs Random Face, Female, Male, Full Body
Filters Race, age, and emotion dropdowns
Platform Browser-based, works on phone and desktop

The four tabs cover the common requests. Random Face mixes men and women. Male and Female each return 8 photos of a man or woman who does not exist. Full Body returns 4 standing people instead of head shots.

The Filters Most Generators Skip

Three dropdowns sit above the photos, and the site notes that most face generators skip this step:

  • Race: Asian, White, Latino Hispanic, Middle Eastern, Indian, Black
  • Age: 1-21, 21-35, 35-50, 50+
  • Emotion: happy or neutral

Change any dropdown and the 8 photos reload immediately. So you can ask for an Indian face, a happy Asian face, or a Black face aged 21 to 35 without starting over.

Generating a Face in Three Steps

  1. Pick a tab: Random Face, Female, Male, or Full Body.
  2. Set race, age, or emotion if you want a closer match.
  3. Click a photo, then save it at 512x512 or full HD. Hit Reload for 8 new faces.

The expected result is a downloadable image file you can use right away. If the first batch does not fit, Reload gives you a fresh set — there is no waiting period between clicks.

Where the Photos Can Go

Because these are free AI-generated photos of people, there is no model to pay and no release to sign. The site points to uses like a profile picture or avatar, or dropping them into website mockups as placeholder people. That makes them practical anywhere you need a human face but cannot use a real person's photo.
