Kona Bridge Club Open Games: Schedule and Arrival Rules

The Kona Bridge Club holds its open duplicate games every Wednesday and Saturday at 1:00pm. Players must sign up in advance and arrive by 12:45. On Wednesdays, do not enter the school grounds before 12:30.

The club is an ACBL-sanctioned non-profit serving the duplicate bridge community on the Big Island of Hawaii. Games are open, so you do not need a standing partnership to attend — but you do need to register ahead of time.

How to Sign Up

  1. Open the sign-up form for the specific game date (the site lists each game separately, e.g., "Wednesday Game" or "Saturday Game").
  2. Enter your name.
  3. Enter your partner's name — or, if you need a partner, write "Needs Partner" plus your contact information.
  4. Provide an email address and phone number.
  5. Submit. Your pair then appears in the confirmed list for that game.

If You Need a Partner

Sign up with your name and put both "Needs Partner" and a way to contact you (phone or email) in your partner slot — for example, "John Doe & Needs Partner 808-555-1212." Other players can then reach you directly to arrange a game. You can also use the "Need A Partner?" option and edit or cancel your registration later.

Seasonal Variations to Check

  • Saturday unit games: During the summer, a unit game may replace the normal Saturday game, so confirm the date before you plan to play.
  • Unit championship games: These may fall on a Saturday or a Sunday depending on the season — check the listed date rather than assuming Saturday.

Practical Checklist

  • Sign up before game day; arrival alone does not reserve a seat.
  • Plan to be at the table by 12:45, fifteen minutes before the 1:00pm start.
  • On Wednesdays, time your arrival for 12:30 or later — the school grounds are off-limits earlier.
  • Bring your partner's confirmed name, or make sure your contact details are visible if you're seeking one.
