Macswest Regular Hours and Weekly Free Apple Sessions
Updated
Macswest's regular hours (September–May) are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 8am–4pm, and Wednesday and Friday 7:30am–4pm. Within that window, the club runs free Apple help and learning sessions most weeks: a peer-to-peer Tech Tips session Tuesday 12:30–1:30 PM, a walk-in Apple Support Session Wednesday at 10:00 AM in Computer Lab Room C at the Palm Ridge Rec Center, and genealogy/Ancestry help Thursday 10:00 AM–noon in Computer Lab Room A. All of these are drop-in and free — no appointment is needed for the Wednesday support session.

Weekly Session Schedule
Tuesday — Tech Tips Tuesday, 12:30–1:30 PM
A peer-to-peer session where members share daily Apple features — Apple Maps, Translator, Find My, messaging and similar apps. Bring an updated iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch running iOS 26 or iOS 18; club Macs are also available to use during the session.
This is a collaborative group session, not a formal class, and it is not intended for one-on-one technical help. If you need individual support, the Wednesday session is the better fit.
Wednesday — Apple Support Session, 10:00 AM
Walk into the Palm Ridge Rec Center Computer Lab, Room C, for a one-on-one session on Apple device and app problems. No appointment is required. Bring your list of IDs and passwords, since many issues involve email accounts or setting up a new device.
The club also asks for volunteer helpers at these sessions — you don't need to be an expert, and common issues are email setup and new-device configuration.
Thursday — Genealogy and Ancestry Help, 10:00 AM–noon
Laura is in Computer Lab Room A to discuss genealogy and help with the Ancestry app, which the club has available.
Choosing the Right Session
- Need help with one specific problem on your own device: go to the Wednesday 10:00 AM Apple Support Session — it's the only one designed for individual assistance.
- Want to pick up tips and practice in a group: Tech Tips Tuesday at 12:30 PM.
- Researching family history: Thursday morning in Room A.
- Just want to use a Mac or try new hardware: Room C during any open hours.
Before You Go
- Check the club calendar first — the schedule above reflects the October 2026 newsletter, and sessions can vary week to week.
- Bring your device updated to iOS 26 or iOS 18 if you plan to join Tuesday's session.
- Write down your IDs and passwords in advance for the Wednesday support session.
- Hours listed are for September–May; confirm summer hours separately if you're visiting outside that period.
