Shortodella Plans Compared: Free, Beginner, Premium, and Pro

Updated

Shortodella's paid tiers differ mainly in three things: how much AI "energy" you get each month, how much storage you have, and whether you must credit Shortodella when you publish. The Free plan costs $0 but requires attribution and only gives access to basic image collections. Beginner ($9/mo) removes the attribution requirement and unlocks the full media gallery, the canvas AI editor, the AI agent, and MCP tools, with 80 energy/mo and 100 MB storage. Premium ($19/mo) and Pro ($39/mo) keep the same feature set but scale energy (190 and 390) and storage (300 MB and 600 MB). Yearly billing takes 20% off, and you can buy extra energy one-time without a subscription.

What each plan actually includes

All three paid tiers list the same core capabilities — the difference is capacity, not features:

| Feature | Free | Beginner | Premium | Pro | |---|---|---|---|---|---| | Price | $0 | $9/mo | $19/mo | $39/mo | | Full media gallery (images, videos, sound, templates) | Basic image collections only | Yes | Yes | Yes | | Canvas AI editor | — | Yes | Yes | Yes | | AI agent | — | Yes | Yes | Yes | | Interface tools | — | Yes | Yes | Yes | | MCP tools | — | Yes | Yes | Yes | | Attribution required | Yes | No | No | No | | Energy per month | — | 80 | 190 | 390 | | Storage | — | 100 MB | 300 MB | 600 MB |

Premium is marked "Recommended" on the pricing page.

Choosing between the paid tiers

The jump from Beginner to Premium is roughly 2.4x the energy and 3x the storage for about 2.1x the price; Premium to Pro is roughly 2x the energy and 2x the storage for about 2x the price. So the value-per-dollar is fairly flat between Premium and Pro, while Premium is the better per-dollar step up from Beginner.

  • Pick Beginner if you're testing the workflow, making a handful of images or short clips a month, and don't mind a small storage ceiling.
  • Pick Premium if you're producing content regularly — the 190 energy and 300 MB give more headroom before you hit limits, and it's the tier the site recommends.
  • Pick Pro if you're running ongoing campaigns or generating video at volume and 300 MB would fill up quickly.

Energy, storage, and the extra pack

Energy is consumed by the AI tools; storage holds your generated media. Both are monthly allowances on the subscription tiers. If you run out before the month resets, the Extra Pack is a one-time purchase: 390 energy for $49, valid for 3 months. That's a way to top up without changing plans — useful if your usage is spiky rather than steady.

Billing and attribution

Monthly and yearly billing are both offered, with yearly at a 20% discount. Subscribing requires signing in. The Free plan's attribution requirement is the main practical difference beyond capacity — if you're using output commercially and can't or don't want to credit Shortodella, you need at least the Beginner tier.

What you can create on any paid plan

The generation stack is the same across tiers: text-to-image in any style or size, text-to-video and image-to-video at 1–8 seconds up to 1080p, photo-to-video, and first-to-last-frame video, all edited on a visual canvas. The site names Nanobanana, Kling, Grok, and Veo as the underlying models. The AI agent lets you describe what you want in plain English and have it generate, edit, and arrange for you.

If your main question is whether to pay at all, the deciding factors are attribution and volume: stay on Free only if attribution is acceptable and basic image collections cover your needs; otherwise Beginner is the entry point, and you scale up based on how much energy and storage you actually burn through.
