tiny.pictures Plans Compared: Hobby, Startup, Business, and Enterprise

Updated

tiny.pictures offers four plan tiers — Hobby, Startup, Business, and Enterprise — each available on monthly or yearly billing. Hobby is free and is meant for personal projects and for trying the API before you commit. Startup, Business, and Enterprise are paid tiers that scale up request, viewer-traffic, and transformation quotas. The yearly option is cheaper per month than monthly billing at every paid tier. If you only need to test the API and client libraries, start on Hobby; upgrade once your request or transformation volume outgrows the free quota.

Plan tiers at a glance

Plan Monthly price Yearly price (per month) Best for
Hobby € 0 /mo € 0 /mo Personal projects, API testing
Startup € 49 /mo € 44 /mo Small sites moving beyond the free tier
Business € 129 /mo € 114 /mo Growing traffic and heavier image processing
Enterprise € 279 /mo € 249 /mo High-volume production workloads

All four tiers are listed on the pricing page with a monthly/yearly toggle. The yearly figures above are the per-month equivalents shown for the yearly subscription.

What each plan includes

The site states Hobby's included quotas explicitly:

  • Hobby (free): 50k requests, 2 GB viewer traffic, 10k transformations — described as "plenty of processing power for your personal project."

For Startup, Business, and Enterprise, the source material only shows the beginning of the Startup description ("Increased included…") and does not list the full request, traffic, or transformation numbers. Those quotas are not reproduced here because they aren't confirmed in the available page content. To compare them precisely, check the "Compare plans" section on the pricing page, where the tiers are laid out side by side.

Monthly vs. yearly billing

The same tier costs less per month when billed yearly:

  • Startup: € 49/mo monthly vs. € 44/mo yearly
  • Business: € 129/mo monthly vs. € 114/mo yearly
  • Enterprise: € 279/mo monthly vs. € 249/mo yearly
  • Hobby: € 0 either way

The yearly discount is consistent across the paid tiers. Choose yearly if you expect to stay on a tier for a full year; choose monthly if your traffic is seasonal or you're still deciding between tiers.

How to choose

  1. Start on Hobby. It's free and gives you 50k requests, 2 GB viewer traffic, and 10k transformations — enough to wire up the API and client libraries and confirm the integration works.
  2. Watch which quota you hit first. Requests, viewer traffic, and transformations are separate limits, so the one you exhaust first tells you which dimension your site stresses.
  3. Move to Startup when Hobby's free quotas no longer cover your traffic. At € 44–49/mo it's the smallest paid step up.
  4. Move to Business or Enterprise as request volume and viewer traffic grow. The exact thresholds for each tier are on the "Compare plans" table.
  5. Pick yearly billing once you're settled on a tier, to pay the lower per-month rate.

Sign-up notes

Registration asks for three fields: your website (the web folder where your images live, e.g. http://your.domain/images/), a user name (lowercase letters only, 3–32 characters, used to set up your tiny.pictures subdomain), and your email (where the confirmation email with an auto-generated password is sent). You can fill in your billing address later in your personal dashboard. The sign-up flow includes a plan selector with the same four tiers and the monthly/yearly toggle, so you can register directly onto a paid plan or start on Hobby.
