UPC: Official Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas Site Guide

Updated

The official site of Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas is upc.edu.pe. Use it to reach UPC's academic program listings, admissions information, campus tour booking, and the university's published rankings and partnerships. The homepage is in Spanish, so plan for Spanish-language navigation unless your browser translates it.

Confirm you are on the official site

The domain upc.edu.pe is the reliable marker. The site identifies itself as Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas and carries the tagline "CRECE LO QUE YA ERES. EXÍGETE, INNOVA." If a page about "UPC" uses a different domain or presents itself as a separate institution, treat it as a different entity until verified.

Find the right program type

The homepage groups academic offerings into three entry points. Choose based on your situation:

Entry point What it covers Who it is for
Pregrado 58 career programs oriented to future trends Traditional undergraduate students
EPE – Carreras para gente que trabaja More than 18 careers in semipresencial and/or distance modality, with schedules that adapt to your pace Working adults
Postgrado More than 120 programs Graduates seeking specialization

Each entry point has its own "Ver más" link leading to the full listing. If you are unsure which applies, the deciding factor is usually whether you are entering university for the first time (Pregrado), already working and needing flexible scheduling (EPE), or building on a completed degree (Postgrado).

Admissions and exam preparation

The homepage highlights two admissions-related actions:

  • Medicine admission exam. If you are applying to Medicina, the site directs you to sign up for the admission exam. Follow the "Conoce más aquí" link on the Medicine section.
  • Beca 18 preparation. UPC offers 6 free virtual mock exams designed by UPC experts to help applicants prepare for the Beca 18 exam. The homepage provides a request link ("Pídelos aquí").

The site also notes that UPC was the first choice among Beca 18 scholarship winners from Pronabec in 2025, which may be relevant context if you are preparing for that competition.

Book a campus visit (UPC TOURS)

UPC TOURS lets prospective students tour the campus guided by current UPC students, see the study environments, and ask questions about university life.

  • When: every Saturday
  • Time slots: 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
  • Cost: free, with registration required
  • How to book: use the "Inscríbete aquí" link in the UPC TOURS section of the homepage

Before you go, confirm the slot still appears on the site, since tour availability can change between terms.

What the homepage says about reputation

  • 1st place in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2025
  • First and only Peruvian university with 5 stars in the QS Stars Rating

Quick navigation checklist

  1. Go to upc.edu.pe.
  2. Pick Pregrado, EPE, or Postgrado under PROGRAMAS ACADÉMICOS.
  3. For Medicine, open the admission exam section; for Beca 18, request the free mock exams.
  4. To visit, register for a Saturday UPC TOURS slot at 9:30 a.m. or 11:00 a.m.
  5. Use the "Conversar con un asesor" option if you want to speak with an advisor before deciding.

The homepage does not publish tuition prices or payment details, so treat cost questions as something to confirm with an advisor rather than inferring from the site.
