What Animal Games Can You Play Online at Switch Zoo?
Updated
Switch Zoo offers six free online animal games plus an offline app, all playable in a browser without downloading anything. The games cover building biomes, identifying feathers, sorting animals by continent, diet, and scavenger status, and each one teaches real animal facts while you play. If you want morphing animations and bigger pictures, the Switch Zoo App is the offline alternative.

How Each Game Works
Build a Biome
You build six of the world's biomes by selecting the correct plants, animals, temperature range, and precipitation for each one. Get a postcard for every biome you complete, and build them all to become a Biome Master.
Words of a Feather
A feather match game. You see a feather and pick its bird from three choices, with a clue to help. Facts about the bird appear as you play.
Where Do I Live?
Move animals to their home continent or ocean. Seven separate games cover mammals, birds, fish, reptiles, amphibians, and mollusks.
Please DO Feed the Animals
Sort animals by diet type so each one receives the right food. It's always feeding time at Switch Zoo, and the sorting is the challenge.
Scavengers Hunt
Spot a scavenger in a crowd by choosing scavengers and non-scavengers from groups of animals.
Switch Zoo Online
Switch the animals' heads, legs, and tails to create your own switcheroos. This is the core creative game the site is named for.
What You Learn Along the Way
Beyond the game mechanics, Switch Zoo includes Animal Profiles covering the characteristics and behavior of 142 animal species. The site also has a Visitors' Pages section where players share animal names, drawings, stories, and poems, including combination-animal drawings from 5th grade students. Teachers' Resources provides an overview of all activities and information on the site.
Online vs. the Switch Zoo App
The six games above run free in your browser. The Switch Zoo App is the offline option and adds morphing animations, bigger pictures, and more features than the online version. Choose the app if you want to play without an internet connection or want richer visuals; stay with the browser games if you want to start immediately with no install.
A Note on Animal Music
Switch Zoo also features Animal Music "performed" by animals, with an explanation of how the music was created after you listen. It's a separate section from the games but part of the same free site.
