What Are the Beliefs and Mission of Asbury Church?

Updated

Asbury Church is a congregation of the Global Methodist Church in Wichita, Kansas, and its stated mission centers on the transformation of the entire person through Jesus. If you want to understand what the church actually teaches and how it pursues that mission, the site points to two main sources: a Beliefs page and a Mission & Vision page that lays out its mission, vision, and core beliefs. The information below reflects what the church publishes about itself.

Where the Beliefs and Mission Are Explained

The church's website lists Beliefs and a Mission & Vision section as separate pages. The Mission & Vision page is described as covering "our Mission, Vision, Core Beliefs and what we stand for at Asbury Church." That makes it the most direct place to read the church's own statement of what it believes and why it exists, rather than relying on secondhand summaries.

The site's own description summarizes the core purpose: Asbury Church "believes in the transformation of the entire person through Jesus."

Denominational Affiliation

Asbury Church identifies as a congregation of the Global Methodist Church. This affiliation is stated directly on the homepage, so it is the clearest indicator of the broader theological tradition the church belongs to. If denominational alignment matters to you, this is the key fact to note before exploring further.

What the Church Offers Alongside Its Mission

The mission is expressed through a set of ministries and programs listed in the site navigation:

  • Adults at Asbury – adult ministry
  • Missions – outreach and mission work
  • Community Garden – a community-facing initiative

  • Events, Prayer, and Devotionals – ongoing spiritual and community activities

The church also runs a preschool, which is mentioned in its site description as an option for families looking for a preschool for their kids.

Worship and Connection

Worship services are held Sundays at 8 and 10:30am, both in person and online via livestream. The church invites newcomers to fill out a Connect Card to share more about themselves and ask questions, and it offers a prayer request form for anyone who wants prayer support.
