Sovereign Grace Orthodox Presbyterian Church (Sovereign Grace OPC) in Redlands, California, holds three Lord's Day gatherings: Sunday School at 9:30am, Morning Service at 11:00am, and Evening Service at 5:30pm. The Lord's Supper is observed every 1st Sunday morning.
Lord's Day Schedule
| Gathering | Time |
|---|---|
| Sunday School | 9:30am |
| Morning Service | 11:00am |
| Evening Service | 5:30pm |
| Lord's Supper | Every 1st Sunday morning |
What to Expect at a Service
The liturgy is God-centered and follows a historic Reformed pattern. A typical service includes:
- A call to worship through the reading of the Word of God
- Songs of praise and thanksgiving
- Reading of the Law of God
- Prayer and confession
- Assurance of pardon
- Exposition of the Scriptures
Worship is described as simple, dignified, and joyful, with the liturgy focused on what Christ has done for the salvation of sinners.
Children and Nursery
Children are welcome in worship. Young children are considered important members of the covenant community and may stay with their parents during the service.
A nursery room is available during both services, with nursery care provided in the morning. Note that the nursery is for staff and workers only — parents must leave their children and return to the worship service. Children's Sunday School classes are also available before the Morning Service.
About the Church
Sovereign Grace OPC has been worshiping in the Inland Empire of Southern California since the late 1980s. It is part of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church, founded in 1936. The congregation describes itself as a Biblical, Reformed, and Covenantal body of believers.
Planning Your Visit
If you are visiting this Lord's Day, arrive a few minutes before the gathering you plan to attend so you can find seating and settle in. Families with young children should decide in advance whether to use the nursery (morning service) or bring children into the service, since children are welcome either way.
