EnglishWhat Casino Games Can I Play at Red Shores?
Updated
Red Shores runs two gaming floors on Prince Edward Island, and the games differ by location. At Red Shores Charlottetown, you can play over 150 slots plus live table games in a private Table Games room — Blackjack, Ultimate Texas Hold 'Em, and Baccarat. At Red Shores at Summerside, the gaming floor offers a variety of VLTs (video lottery terminals) rather than table games. So if you want table games, Charlottetown is the location to choose; if you prefer slots-style machine play in Summerside, the VLT floor there covers it.
Games by location
| Game type | Charlottetown | Summerside |
|---|---|---|
| Slots | Over 150 slots | — |
| VLTs | — | Variety of VLTs |
| Blackjack | Yes (private Table Games room) | — |
| Ultimate Texas Hold 'Em | Yes (private Table Games room) | — |
| Baccarat | Yes (private Table Games room) | — |
The table games at Charlottetown are described as sitting in a private Table Games room, so they're a distinct area within the casino rather than spread across the main floor.
Which location fits your play style
- Choose Charlottetown if you want the widest mix: a large slot floor plus live, dealer-run table games.
- Choose Summerside if you want machine play (VLTs) in a recently renovated gaming floor. Red Shores notes the Summerside gaming floor has just completed renovations and offers a mix of VLTs in a new modern destination.
Both properties are year-round entertainment destinations, and each is attached to a larger venue — Charlottetown's is attached to the Eastlink Centre, and Summerside's sits next to Credit Union Place.
Beyond the gaming floor
Gaming isn't the only thing at either site. Charlottetown also offers live harness racing with a climate-controlled grandstand, pari-mutuel betting, and an enhanced simulcast racing theatre, plus three on-site restaurant options. Summerside, at the Summerside Raceway — described as believed to be the oldest continuously raced horse track in Canada — includes The West End Bar & Grill. Dining across the two properties spans four unique locations.
If you play regularly, the Rewards Club provides offers and benefits each time you play, and current promotions are listed on the Promotions and Events page. Red Shores also publishes PlayWise resources covering how the games work, assessing your play, and taking breaks.
Practical notes before you go
- Confirm hours and contact details for the specific location you plan to visit, since the two properties operate as separate sites.
- Table game availability is listed for Charlottetown only — Summerside's floor is VLT-based, so don't expect dealer tables there.
- Racing and casino are separate activities at Charlottetown; if betting on horses is your goal, that's the pari-mutuel and simulcast side rather than the slot or table floor.
