What Championships Does the Pennsylvania Golf Association Run?

Updated

The Pennsylvania Golf Association (PAGA) runs a season-long slate of championships that spans men's, women's, senior, and mid-amateur golf, plus team and family events. Based on the association's own results listings, the schedule includes an Open Championship, an Amateur Championship, Middle-Amateur (Mid-Am) Championships for men and women, Senior Amateur and Senior Four-Ball Championships, the Art Wall, Jr. Memorial, and Parent-Child and Father-Son Championships. Most of these are decided through qualifying rounds held at multiple courses before the championship proper.

Championship categories

The association's results archive groups its events into a few clear families:

  • Open and Amateur — the 110th Open Championship and the 113th Amateur Championship anchor the men's schedule.
  • Mid-Amateur — the 33rd Middle-Amateur Championship for men, plus a women's Mid-Am title contested within a combined women's championship.
  • Senior — the 67th Senior Amateur Championship, the 34th Men's and 6th Women's Senior Four-Ball Championship, and a Senior Amateur Match Play Championship.
  • Women's — the 90th Women's Am, Mid-Am, Senior and Super-Senior Championship, plus a Women's Senior Amateur Match Play Championship.
  • Memorial and team events — the 22nd The Art Wall, Jr. Memorial and the 8th Parent-Child and 17th Father-Son Championship.

Qualifying rounds and multi-site qualifiers

Several championships are fed by qualifiers rather than direct entry. The results listings show Open Championship qualifiers at multiple sites and regions, including East, East-2, Central, and West, plus a West-2 qualifier. The Mid-Amateur Championship likewise ran qualifiers in four regions: West, Central, NEPA, and East.

That structure matters if you are trying to enter or follow a specific event: the qualifier, not the championship itself, is often the first checkpoint, and each qualifier is played at a different club on its own date.

Where championships are played

Host clubs vary by event and year. Examples drawn from the results listings include:

Championship Host club (listed)
113th Amateur Championship Oakmont Country Club
110th Open Championship Laurel Valley Golf Club
33rd Middle-Amateur Championship LedgeRock Golf Club
22nd The Art Wall, Jr. Memorial Scotch Valley Country Club
34th Men's and 6th Women's Senior Four-Ball Toftrees Golf Club
67th Senior Amateur Championship Berkshire Country Club
90th Women's Am, Mid-Am, Senior and Super-Senior Gulph Mills Golf Club

How to confirm the current schedule

Championship names, edition numbers, dates, and host clubs change annually, so treat the listings above as the association's published record rather than a fixed calendar. To check a specific event, use the association's own results and news pages: each result entry pairs the championship name with its dates and host club, and the news feed carries announcements such as qualifying completion and first-round leaderboards. If you need entry or eligibility details for a given championship, that information sits with the individual event rather than in the general results index.
