EnglishWhat Community Features Are Available on GeoTips?
Updated
GeoTips offers four main community-facing features: the GeoTips Pro League, a Discord server, a World Records page, and a GeoTips Monthly League. All of them are accessible from the site's main menu, and the site describes itself as made by "a selected team of the best players in the GeoGuessr community, all for free." If you are looking for competitive play, verified records, or day-to-day discussion with other players, these are the sections to check.
GeoTips Pro League
The site announces the Pro League with a direct call to action: "Did you hear we started a Geotips Pro League? Click here." This is the competitive, league-style feature of the community. The homepage does not list schedules, entry requirements, or formats, so the linked page is the place to go for those details.
Discord Community
GeoTips points visitors to "the new discord," framed as a join invitation. Discord is where community interaction happens outside the site itself — useful if you want to ask questions, discuss rounds, or follow league activity as it happens. The homepage gives the invite link but no further description of channels or rules.
World Records
The site maintains a dedicated WORLD RECORDS page and explicitly tells visitors not to forget to check it. Two details from the homepage matter here:
- Verification priority: "Records done with the GeoTips Records Browser will have priority in verification queue." So if you intend to submit a record, using the official browser affects how quickly it gets reviewed.
- Browser version: The GeoTips Browser has been updated to v1.2, with included features listed as full screen, back to previous URL, better performance, and an improved anti-cheat method. The download link is on the homepage.
GeoTips Monthly League
A GeoTips Monthly League appears in the site's main menu alongside World Records and the regional sections. It is a recurring, month-based competition format, distinct from the Pro League. As with the Pro League, the homepage does not spell out rules or standings — follow the menu link for current information.
How the Community Features Fit Together
| Feature | What it is for | Where to find it |
|---|---|---|
| GeoTips Pro League | Competitive league play | "Click here" link on homepage |
| Discord | Community chat and coordination | "Join us on the new discord" link |
| World Records | Record submissions and browsing | WORLD RECORDS page in menu |
| GeoTips Monthly League | Recurring monthly competition | Main menu |
If your goal is to compete, start with the Pro League or Monthly League pages. If your goal is to submit a record, download the GeoTips Browser v1.2 first so your submission enters the priority verification queue. If you just want to talk to other players or keep up with community news, the Discord is the entry point.
