What Else Does Classical Guitar Centre Offer Besides Guitars?

Updated

Classical Guitar Centre (classicalguitar.co.uk), run by The Classical Guitar Centre Ltd UK, is more than an instrument shop. Alongside its guitar stock, the site lists strings, sheet music and books, CDs and DVDs, its own ASG Music Publications, and historical material such as the Tárrega–Leckie guitar manuscripts and a title on guitar making in nineteenth-century London. It also publishes buying advice, testimonials and an about-us section you can use to judge the retailer before ordering. Note that the site says it cannot currently supply EU countries with music, books or accessories because of postal restrictions.

Strings and accessories

The strings section names Augustine, Conde Hermanos, Jose Ramirez, Knobloch, La Bella and Aranjuez, so you can match a replacement set to the guitar brands the shop carries. Accessories sit in their own category. The site advertises free shipping on UK orders over £50; no delivery terms are given for other destinations beyond the EU restriction above.

Music, books, CDs and DVDs

This is the part that goes beyond a typical guitar retailer:

  • Sheet music and books — a general category alongside the instrument listings.
  • CDs and DVDs — listed as a separate product category.
  • ASG Music Publications — the shop's own publishing imprint, listed in the main navigation.
  • Historical and archival titles — for example Guitar Making In Nineteenth-Century London (£120–£160, available in variants) and Dr Walter Leckie & Don Francisco Tárrega (£80–£100, also in variants). The site also references the Tárrega–Leckie guitar manuscripts.

If your interest is repertoire, recordings or the history of the instrument rather than a new guitar, these listings are the reason to visit the site.

Information for assessing the shop

  • About Us and Testimonials pages give background on the business and customer feedback.
  • Buying Advice and a Blog offer guidance before you commit to a purchase.
  • Contact details are published directly: phone 0121 429 7446 and email [email protected].

Practical points before you order

  • Visits are by prior appointment. Opening hours are Tuesday–Friday 10am–3.30pm and Saturday 10am–5pm; the site asks you to let them know in advance.
  • EU postal restriction applies to music, books and accessories, not to instruments as stated.
  • Prices are shown per product, and some items have variant price ranges (for example the two historical titles above). Check the selected variant before adding to cart.

If you want a single guitar plus matching strings and method books, the shop can cover all three in one order. If you are outside the UK and mainly want printed music or accessories, confirm delivery before ordering, since the site explicitly excludes EU countries for those categories.
