What exhibitions are currently on or coming up at Talbot Rice Gallery?
Updated
Talbot Rice Gallery lists its programme on the "What's on" page at trg.ed.ac.uk, split into Upcoming exhibitions and Past Exhibitions. Based on the current listing, the next confirmed shows are The Rupture: No condition is permanent (24 Oct 2026 – 13 Feb 2027), Trading Zone 2027 (13 Mar – 29 May 2027), and a Fiona Lutjenhuis exhibition (13 Mar – 29 May 2027). If you are planning a visit around those dates, check the page again closer to the time, since the listing is the gallery's own schedule rather than a fixed annual calendar.

The Rupture: No condition is permanent
A group exhibition running from 24 October 2026 to 13 February 2027. The artists listed are Taysir Batniji, Jenny Brady, Dasha Chechushkova, Jasmina Cibic, Kiri Dalena, Zhanna Kadyrova, Roman Khimei and Yarema Malashchuk, Tarik Kiswanson, Eoghan Ryan, Margaret Salmon, Astra Taylor, Li Yifan, Carey Young, Claudia Zeiske and Song Ziwei.
Trading Zone 2027
Running 13 March – 29 May 2027. The gallery describes Trading Zone as its "pioneering interdisciplinary student exhibition," now returning for 2027.
Fiona Lutjenhuis
Also 13 March – 29 May 2027. This is described as the first exhibition of Fiona Lutjenhuis's work in the UK, exploring alternative belief systems and moral judgement, and taking visitors "into the realms of Hell and Atlantis."
Past exhibitions
The same page keeps a Past Exhibitions section for reference. Entries shown include:
- Anne Hardy
- The dead don't go until we do
- The Children are Now
- Wael Shawky
- Trading Zone 2025
A "View all" link suggests the full archive extends beyond these highlights.
Other things on the site
Beyond the exhibition schedule, the What's on page points to two ways to get more involved:
- Volunteering — the gallery recruits Volunteer Exhibition Assistants for every exhibition, and describes them as crucial to the success of its shows.
- Supporting the gallery — the Talbot Rice Gallery Patron Programme is presented as a way to help fund ambitious exhibitions by extraordinary artists.
Practical notes
- Opening times appear as a heading on the page, so check that section before travelling rather than assuming standard hours.
- Dates are given as ranges, and the two March–May 2027 shows overlap, so a single visit in that window could cover both.
- The listing is a snapshot: exhibitions can be added, moved or extended, so treat the What's on page as the authoritative source and re-check it near your intended visit date.
