What family and youth groups does Christ Church Ottershaw run?

Updated

Christ Church Ottershaw runs three regular groups for children and young people: a Baby & Toddler Group on Monday mornings during school term time, Hi-5 & Fusion for school years 5–6 every other Monday evening, and Inspire & The Edge for school years 7–8 every other Tuesday evening. All three meet at Christ Church, Guildford Rd, Ottershaw, Chertsey KT16 0PB. The details below come from the church's own listings, so check with the named contact before a first visit in case term dates or rooms have changed.

Baby & Toddler Group

  • Who it's for: Babies and toddlers with a parent or carer. The listing says "everyone is welcome."
  • When: Monday mornings during school term time, 10:00–11:30.
  • Where: The Parish Centre, Christ Church, Ottershaw.
  • What's provided: Snacks and drinks for the children, and tea and coffee for parents and carers.
  • Contact: Denise — [email protected]

Because the group follows school term time, it won't run during half-terms or holidays. If you're planning a first visit, emailing Denise beforehand is the simplest way to confirm the next meeting date.

Youth groups for school years 5–6: Hi-5 & Fusion

  • Who it's for: Young people in school years 5 and 6.
  • When: Every other Monday, 18:30–20:00.
  • Where: Christ Church, Ottershaw.
  • Contact: Mandi — 07747 134593

The church describes these as "fun and engaging" groups. The fortnightly pattern means you'll want to check which Monday is a meeting week before turning up.

Youth groups for school years 7–8: Inspire & The Edge

  • Who it's for: Young people in school years 7 and 8.
  • When: Every other Tuesday, 18:30–20:30.
  • Where: Christ Church, Ottershaw.
  • Contact: Mandi — 07747 134593

Note that this session runs half an hour longer than the years 5–6 group, finishing at 20:30.

Practical points before you go

  • Address for all groups: Christ Church, Ottershaw, Guildford Rd, Ottershaw, Chertsey KT16 0PB.
  • Term time only: The toddler group explicitly runs during school term time, so holiday weeks are out.
  • Alternating weeks: Both youth groups meet every other week rather than weekly — confirm the current pattern with Mandi by text or call.
  • Sunday option for families: On the first and third Sundays of the month, the 10:30 Morning Worship service includes children's groups running in the Parish Hall, which may suit families who want a weekend slot instead of a weekday group.
