What File Types Does FilesMD Support?

Updated

FilesMD accepts almost any file type for metadata viewing and editing. According to its upload page, you can drag and drop an image or click to select a file, and the supported list spans photos, video, audio, documents, compressed archives, and other binary formats. If your file is in one of the categories below, you can upload it to view EXIF and metadata fields such as timestamp, thumbnails, software version, language, author, GPS location, and original document ID.

How to Check If Your File Is Supported

  1. Open the FilesMD upload area.
  2. Drag and drop your file onto the page, or click to select it.
  3. If the format appears in the supported list above, FilesMD will attempt to extract its metadata and EXIF fields.

The page describes the list as covering "(almost) any type of file," so formats outside these categories may still work — but the categories above are the ones explicitly listed as supported.
