What Happens to My Patient Records When Fishponds Practice Becomes the Chestnut Practice?

Your patient records will transfer securely to The Chestnut Practice on 1 November 2026, and The Chestnut Practice will become the data controller for them. How your notes are looked after stays the same. If you would prefer your records not to transfer, you need to tell the practice by 23 October.

The transfer, step by step

1. Before 23 October: If you do not want your records to move to The Chestnut Practice, contact the practice and say so. This is the only deadline in the process, and it falls before the transfer date.
2. 1 November 2026: Your records transfer securely from Fishponds Practice to The Chestnut Practice, which becomes the data controller.
3. After the transfer: Your notes and the way they are looked after remain the same. The care team — Martyn, Gaby, Paddy and Elly — continues treating patients as before, and Nina Hurrell continues as an osteopath alongside her new role as Director.

What stays the same

• Your care team: The osteopaths treating you are not changing.
• Other services: Chiropody with Hilary and Sadie, and holistic massage with Caroline, continue. Paddy will also offer ear wax removal.
• How your notes are handled: The practice states that your notes and how they look after them will stay the same.
• Contact details for now: The phone number remains 0117 949 1290. From November, the new email address is [email protected].

The practice invites patients to ring 0117 949 1290 with any questions about the change. Use the same number, or the new email address from November, if you want to discuss your records or ask for them not to transfer — remembering the 23 October cut-off for that request.

The practice is based at 834 Fishponds Road, Bristol BS16 3XA. The rename follows more than 30 years of osteopathic care in Fishponds, with Nina Hurrell, an osteopath there since 2016, becoming Director.
