What Information Does FindKaraoke Show for Each Karaoke Venue?

Updated

FindKaraoke lists each venue with its name, street address, a numeric rating, the day(s) and start time(s) of karaoke, phone number, and a short description of the venue type and character. That combination is enough to decide whether a place fits your night — but the depth of detail varies by listing, so some entries tell you far more than others.

The core fields on every listing

Each venue card is built around the same basic set:

  • Venue name — e.g. "12 Steps Down" or "222 Thai Speakeasy."
  • Street address — full enough to map or navigate to, such as "831 Christian St, Philadelphia, PA 19147."
  • Rating — a single decimal score, e.g. 4.9, 4.2, 4.7.
  • Karaoke day and start time — the schedule, e.g. "Tuesday," "Tuesday at 9 PM," or "Sunday, Tuesday–Saturday at 2 PM, Monday at 5 PM."
  • Phone number — a direct contact line for the venue.
  • A "Times, map & details" link — the entry point to the fuller listing.

The directory reports coverage of 3,019 venues across 1,133 cities in 70 countries, so the same fields are applied consistently across a very large set.

Karaoke schedule: the field that varies most

The day-and-time field is where listings differ most, and it's the one to read carefully:

  • Single night: "Karaoke every Tuesday night" (12 Steps Down).
  • Multiple fixed nights: "Karaoke on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 8:30 PM until close" (2nd Street Bar).
  • Nightly: "Killer Karaoke nightly" (414 Pub Pizza & Karaoke – Mesa).
  • Split schedules by day: "Weekends at 11 AM, Weekdays at 5 PM" (222 Thai Speakeasy) or "Sunday, Tuesday–Saturday at 2 PM, Monday at 5 PM" (161 Lafayette).

Some entries give a start time only; others give a start and an end ("9 PM to midnight"). Where an end time is missing, don't assume the night runs to close — call the venue.

Hours, age rules, and venue character

The description block is where you learn whether a place suits you. Across the sample listings it carries several distinct kinds of information:

Detail type Example from a listing
Full opening hours "Open Mon-Thu 18:00-00:00, Fri-Sat 18:00-03:00. Closed Sundays."
Age restriction "21 and over" (219 Lounge; 222 Thai Speakeasy)
Venue type "dive bar," "cocktail bar," "Speakeasy-style karaoke lounge," "communal KTV bar"
Room setup "Intimate ~35-person communal KTV bar with two mics"
Food and drink "serves a wide beer selection and a food menu"; "serving Thai food and cocktails"
Extras "dog-friendly patio," "pool tables, darts, games," "hosts private events for groups over 20"
Host or event name "hosted by DJ Pat"; "Night-Out Karaoke"

This is the layer that answers "is this my kind of place?" — a 35-person room with two mics is a very different night from a dive bar with a wide beer selection.

How to use the fields to judge fit

Work through them in this order:

  1. Filter by day first. Use the day filter (Tonight, All Days, or a specific weekday) so you only see venues with karaoke on your night.
  2. Check the start time against your plans. A 2 PM Sunday start and a 9 PM Tuesday start suit different evenings.
  3. Read the description for fit. Look for age limits, room size, and whether food is served — these decide whether a group will enjoy it.
  4. Confirm the address and phone. If the schedule or hours are ambiguous, the phone number is there to verify before you travel.

What the listings don't tell you

  • No price information appears in the listings shown, so don't read a venue as free or paid from the directory alone.
  • Ratings have no visible review count or scale in the card, so treat a 4.9 and a 4.2 as relative signals rather than precise measures.
  • Descriptions are uneven. Some entries are one line; others include hours, age rules, and room capacity. A sparse listing isn't a warning — it just means less has been recorded.

If a listing leaves a question that matters to your night — cover charge, whether you can reserve a room, or the exact end time — the phone number is the fastest way to close the gap.
