What Is 0x72 on itch.io?

Updated

0x72 is an itch.io creator profile that publishes pixel art asset packs and small games and tools. The page lists tilesets (some free, some priced at $2), browser-playable generators and games, and a few development utilities. It is a place to browse and download or buy that creator's work, not a marketplace-wide store or a company site.

What you'll find on the page

The profile mixes several kinds of releases, and the listing itself is the best guide to what is available:

Category Examples listed Notes
Paid tilesets 16x16 DungeonTileset II - Sewers, Warp Defender Listed at $2
Free tilesets 16x16 Dungeon Tileset, μFantasy Tileset, 16x16 Industrial Tileset, 8x8 F24 Tileset, 16x16 Pirates Tileset, 16x16+ Robot Tileset Free fantasy, sci-fi, pirate and micro tilesets, some with characters and enemies

Utilities and guides PRoll, GameBoy exporter for Aseprite, LÖVE Platformer Guide Dice tool, export tool and a written guide

How to decide whether it's useful to you

  • If you need pixel art for a game: start with the free tilesets. The 16x16 Dungeon Tileset and μFantasy Tileset are described as complete fantasy sets, and the robot and pirate sets include characters. Check the resolution (16x16, 8x8, 2-bit micro) against your project before downloading.
  • If you want to make characters or split sheets quickly: the browser tools (pixeldudesmaker, 2BitCharactersGenerator, tilesetssplitter, PaperDungeonMaker) run without installing anything, so you can test them directly on the page.
  • If you want a small game to try: the browser-playable entries are the lowest-friction option.
  • If you're deciding on the paid items: the page shows a $2 price for the Sewers tileset and Warp Defender. The listing does not state licensing terms or what each download includes beyond the short description, so confirm those details on the individual item page before buying.

Practical notes

The profile also links to an external site (0x72.pl) and a Mastodon account, which is where updates and contact likely live. Because the page is a profile feed rather than a catalog with filters, the fastest way to find something specific is to scan the item titles and their one-line descriptions, then open the item that matches your engine, resolution and art style.
