What Is Ancient City Con (ACC) and What Should Attendees Expect?

Ancient City Con (ACC) is an anime, cosplay, and comic convention held in St. Augustine, Florida. Its next edition is scheduled for September 24–26, 2027, at the World Golf Village Resort, with events based at the Renaissance Resort and the attached St. Johns Convention Center. If you're considering attending, expect a cosplay-forward weekend with a strong local fandom community, plus a comic-book tie-in and a limited-edition variant cover released in partnership with Coliseum of Comics.

When and Where ACC Takes Place

The official site lists a single upcoming date and venue, so this is the information to plan around:

Because the convention center is attached to the host hotel, attendees staying at the Renaissance Resort can move between lodging and convention space without leaving the property — a practical advantage for a multi-day event.

What Attendees Can Expect

A Cosplay-Centered Atmosphere

Cosplay is the clearest identity the convention promotes. The site states that ACC was voted Best Cosplayer Event in the FOLIO readers poll for the third year in a row, and organizers describe it as a privilege to "celebrate and serve local and regional Cosplay scene welcoming all fandoms." In practice, that means:

• A welcoming environment across fandoms rather than a single-series focus
• Strong participation from regional cosplayers, which typically means plenty of photo opportunities and informal meetups
• An event culture that treats cosplay as a headline activity, not a side attraction

Comics and Official Merchandise

ACC has an official comic book, and the convention has partnered with Coliseum of Comics on an exclusive variant cover for D'ORC's first trade paperback, The Book of Certain Doom. The cover, by illustrator Ryan English (The Vigis), depicts D'ORC being flung from battle atop the Castillo de San Marcos in St. Augustine — a local landmark woven into the art. The limited-edition variant collects issues #1–#5 and is slated to reach shelves July 22, 2026, exclusively at most Coliseum of Comics locations.

For attendees, this signals two things: the convention has an active comics partnership beyond the show floor, and the exclusive cover is a store release rather than something you necessarily pick up at the convention itself. Check with a Coliseum of Comics location for details.

Visual Identity

ACC's character illustration is by comic artist Jeff Whiting, and the site also credits a promotional video by Jack Drain and art by Squishy Apple Graphics. These credits are useful if you want to recognize official branding and avoid mistaking fan-made graphics for organizer materials.

How to Get Updates and Contact the Organizers

The official site is the primary source, and ACC maintains active social accounts:

• Website: ancientcitycon.com, including a contact page
• Facebook: Facebook.com/AncientCityCon
• Instagram: Instagram.com/AncientCityCon
• Twitter: Twitter.com/AncientCityCon

For questions about the event, the contact page is the direct route. For schedule announcements, guest reveals, and cosplay-related news, the social channels are where organizers typically post.

Practical Planning Notes

• Book around the venue. With the convention center attached to the Renaissance Resort, staying on-site simplifies a three-day schedule. The site does not publish room rates or booking links, so confirm lodging details directly with the resort.
• Plan for three days. The September 24–26 window is a full weekend, so decide in advance whether you want a single-day visit or a full pass.
• Verify before you travel. The listed dates are for 2027, well ahead of the event. Confirm dates, hours, and any ticketing details on the official site or social accounts closer to the convention.
• Watch for the comic release separately. The D'ORC variant cover arrives July 22, 2026 — before the convention — so don't assume it will be waiting on the show floor.

Bottom Line

ACC is a regional Florida convention built around cosplay, anime, and comics, held at a resort venue in St. Augustine with convention space under the same roof as the hotel. If you're a cosplayer or fandom fan in the region, it's a welcoming, community-oriented event with a proven cosplay reputation. Use the official site and social channels to confirm details as the September 2027 dates approach.
