What Is Australian Bridge Magazine?

Updated

Australian Bridge Magazine is a bridge (card game) publication whose website, australianbridge.com, is the subscription and information hub for the magazine. It is aimed at bridge players who want instructional columns, event reporting, and organised online competition. The site is useful if you want to subscribe, follow Australia-Wide Pairs events, read or take part in a bidding forum, or access the online supplement that accompanies each issue.

What the site offers

  • The magazine itself. The most recent issue referenced on the site is August–September 2026. The August issue was postponed by one month, with an apology noted on the homepage.
  • Subscription sign-up. A subscription form is available, and rates are listed in the site header.
  • An Online Supplement. Launched to accompany each issue, it contains print-friendly versions of the Bidding Challenge hands, time-sensitive news, and articles that did not fit in the print magazine.
  • Australia-Wide Pairs events. Three annual events run under this banner.
  • A bidding forum. An experts' forum appears in the magazine, moderated by Phil Gue and Fraser Rew, while a readers' version runs online, moderated by Brad Coles and Nigel Kearney. Archived issues of the feature are accessible via a drop-down box in the current month's column.

Subscription rates

Rates are quoted in Australian dollars, for 4 issues per year:

Who writes for it

Recent issues have included event reports on the Asia Cup, the ANC, and the Victorian Festival.

If you are deciding whether the site is relevant to you: it is the right starting point if you want to subscribe to the magazine, enter or check results for an Australia-Wide Pairs event, or read the online bidding forum and supplement. If you only want free bridge instruction without a subscription, note that the site's core product is the paid magazine, and the subscription rates above apply.
