What Is Awesome Immich?

Updated

Awesome Immich is a curated directory of third-party apps, integrations, tools, distributions, and guides built around Immich. It is not the official Immich app or the official documentation — it is a community-maintained index that points you to other people's projects, each with links to a website and/or source code. Use it when you already run Immich and want to find clients for a specific platform, automation tooling, or a setup guide, rather than when you need to install or troubleshoot Immich itself.

What it actually contains

The site organizes entries into six categories, with a count shown next to each heading:

Category Entries What you'll find there
Client apps 16 Alternative front-ends and mobile/desktop clients for browsing or uploading to Immich
Command-line tools 15 CLI utilities, typically for bulk upload, migration, or scripting against Immich
Integrations 6 Connectors that link Immich to other services or workflows
Tools 10 Supporting utilities that don't fit the client or CLI buckets
Distributions 2 Packaged ways of deploying or shipping Immich
Guides 14 Written walkthroughs, mostly hosted on external sites

Each entry is essentially a link block: some list a website, some list source code, and many list both. The page itself carries no descriptions of the individual projects, so you'll need to open the linked site or repository to judge whether a given tool fits your setup.

How to use it

  1. Pick the category that matches your task. Looking for an Android or iOS client? Start with Client apps. Automating uploads from a server or NAS? Command-line tools. Connecting Immich to something else? Integrations.
  2. Open the linked website first if one exists, since that usually gives a feature overview and install instructions; fall back to the source code link when there's no site.
  3. Check the project's own repository for activity and compatibility before committing — the directory lists what exists, not what is currently maintained or which Immich server versions it supports.
  4. For setup questions, cross-reference the Guides section, which collects 14 external write-ups that often cover deployment and configuration in more depth than a project README.

What it is not

  • Not the official Immich app. The official project's own site, documentation, API reference, and download pages are separate destinations; Awesome Immich only links out to community work.
  • Not a support channel. There's no forum or issue tracker here — problems with a listed tool go to that tool's own maintainers.
  • Not a review site. Entries appear as bare links without ratings, screenshots, or comparisons, so quality and freshness vary by project.

When it's worth opening

Reach for Awesome Immich when you have a concrete gap to fill — for example, you want a desktop client that isn't the web UI, a script to import an existing photo library in bulk, or a guide for running Immich on hardware you already own. Skip it if you're still deciding whether to use Immich at all, or if you need official installation and upgrade instructions; the project's own documentation is the right source for that.
