What Is BK Cypress Log Homes?

Updated

BK Cypress Log Homes is a company that designs, plans, and mills custom log home packages from Tidewater Red Cypress. According to its website, it has produced thousands of custom home packages and works with clients from initial design through material milling, coordinating with independent custom log home contractors to build the finished home. It is a fit for someone planning a custom cypress log home who wants design help and milled materials rather than a generic kit.

What the company does

The site describes three connected areas of work:

  • Design and planning — sales staff with experience in custom log home projects help work out the layout, including details like door swings and light switch locations.
  • Milling — the company mills Tidewater Red Cypress into custom home packages.
  • Team building — it maintains relationships with independent custom log home contractors and can help clients assemble a build team.

The stated scope is broad: the site says there is "no project too big or too small."

Design elements it lists

The site names specific features it can plan and produce, which is useful for judging whether its capabilities match your project:

Category Examples listed
Log corner systems Dovetail and saddle notch
Dormers Club corner system for gable and shed dormers
Structural elements Hand-peeled cypress structural elements; flared-bottom cypress center support tree
Framing and roofing Dimensional second-floor framing; exposed timber roofing systems
Accents Faux beam design and accents
Stairs and railings Half log or cypress slab steps; hand-peeled railing systems
Fireplace Half log cypress mantel

Interior planning is framed around blending materials and finishes, with the site emphasizing that no detail is too minor to consider.

How to start

The site offers two contact routes: a free online quote request or a phone call. The numbers listed are 352-486-2470 and 1-800-553-1564. There is also a contact form asking for name, email, phone, and address. The site suggests calling to discuss topics like corner systems, dormers, and railing styles as a way to open the conversation.

What to keep in mind

The website presents the company's own description of its services; it does not publish pricing, package tiers, lead times, or licensing details. Before committing, ask directly about:

  • What a home package includes and what is supplied separately
  • How contractor selection and coordination work in practice
  • Current pricing and scheduling for your project size

If you are early in planning a cypress log home and want design input plus milled materials from one source, BK Cypress Log Homes is worth a call. If you need a fixed-price kit or published specifications to compare vendors, request those details first.
