What is Black Hills Rapids Soccer Club?

Updated

Black Hills Rapids Soccer Club is a youth soccer organization based in Rapid City, South Dakota, and its website (blackhillsrapids.com) serves as the club's information hub for programs, tryouts, volunteering, and referee registration. If you are a parent looking for a youth soccer program in the Rapid City area, a player checking tryout dates, or someone interested in refereeing or volunteering, this site is the place to start. The club's site identifies it as the "Home of the 2025 & 2026 National Premier League Champions."

Where the club is located and how to reach it

The club lists a mailing address and limited office hours:

  • Mailing address: Black Hills Rapids, PO Box 273, Rapid City, SD 57709
  • Office hours:
    • Mondays: by appointment only
    • Tuesdays & Thursdays: 8am – 2pm
    • Wednesdays: by appointment only

The site notes that office times may vary, so emailing ahead is the practical way to confirm availability.

What programs the club offers

The homepage lists a "player pathway" of programs, which suggests a progression from introductory play to more competitive levels. The programs named on the page are:

  • First Kicks
  • Recreational Program
  • Center of Excellence
  • Indoor League
  • Pre-Academy
  • Premier & Academy
  • Northern Hills Program
  • Camps

The site directs newcomers to a player pathway photo and links for more detail on how these programs differ. If you are deciding where your child fits, that pathway is the section to review first.

Tryouts, volunteering, and refereeing

Beyond programs, the site surfaces several action items for families and community members:

  • Competitive team tryouts: a "2026-2027 Competitive Team Tryout Link" is posted on the homepage.
  • Volunteering: a "Volunteer Tracking Form" is available.
  • Refereeing: a "Become a Referee" link with a "Click Here for More Info" prompt.

These are the main ways to get involved beyond registering as a player.

Health care and platform details

The club names Sanford Health as "the official health care, sports medicine, and athletic training services provider of the Black Hills Rapids and its athletes," linking to sanfordhealth.org.

The website runs on SportsEngine's Sports Relationship Management (SRM) software. The site states it is owned by and subject to the Black Hills Rapids Soccer Club privacy policy, with a SportsEngine copyright notice dated 2026.

What the site does not tell you

The homepage excerpt does not include program fees, registration prices, age-group eligibility rules, or tryout dates beyond the posted link. For those specifics, you would need to follow the individual program and tryout links or contact the club by email.
