What is cable.ayra.ch?
Updated
cable.ayra.ch is a personal collection of independent web tools and services, organized into six categories. It is useful if you want small, single-purpose utilities — an Apache/PHP installer, a DOCMAC IPv6 address generator, an image compressor, a PDF page splitter, a Wi-Fi QR code generator, and more — without installing anything locally. The services run independently, so most of them have no link back to the main overview page.
How the site is organized
The homepage is a service listing split into six categories you click into:
- Home
- New Toys
- Info
- Security
- Ext
- Other
The listing also shows a "Latest Changes" feed and a "Show All" view with 153 entries. Each entry has a name and a short description, and everything in the latest-changes list also appears in at least one category.
What kinds of tools are there
The site mixes practical utilities with experiments that have no real purpose.
Practical tools include:
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
| Apache Installer | Easy-to-use installers for Apache + PHP |
| DOCMAC IP generator | Generates DOCMAC IPv6 addresses |
| Image compressor | Compresses images according to file size and dimension limits |
| PDF Splitter | Extracts or deletes a range of pages from a PDF |
| Tor client for Windows | Fully automatically created Tor client installer |
| Wifi QR generator | Generates QR codes to connect to a Wi-Fi network |
| Windows language and encodings | Lists all languages and encodings Windows knows |
Playful or experimental items include a Braille converter, a JavaScript-only Gameboy emulator that runs in the browser, an IPoAC (pigeon network) calculator, an icon renderer, image dithering, a MOD player with over 4000 audio files, a WebAssembly version of the MOD player, and a PNG player demo that hides audio inside PNG files.
Two servers and a separate directory
There are two servers with different services. A link on the page lets you switch to the old directory, so if a tool you expect isn't in the current listing, check the old one.
Recent changes worth knowing
- 2026-01-16: The IP service was retired and replaced by an improved service.
- 2025-08-17: Country IP ranges were updated.
- 2025-01-14: Ping and traceroute were added to the IP website.
- 2023-10-12 and 2023-06-11: Country IP ranges were updated.
If you were relying on the old IP service, use the replacement instead.
When this site fits your needs
Use cable.ayra.ch when you want a quick, browser-based utility for a narrow task — compressing an image to a size limit, splitting a PDF, generating a Wi-Fi QR code, or checking IP ranges and traceroute data. Skip it if you need a supported product with documentation, accounts, or guarantees; this is a personal tool collection where services operate independently and some are deliberately purposeless.
