What Is Checkersland?

Updated

Checkersland is a website that offers free checkers (draughts) programs and related services. According to its own description, it provides "different kinds of free checkers programs and services for them," letting you play either against the computer or against other people over the Internet. The most capable version is Checkersland PC, which supports more than 20 kinds of checkers and runs on Windows, Linux, macOS, and Solaris.

What the site offers

The main page lists these areas:

  • Programs — the downloadable software, split into PC and Android builds
  • Android Online — an online option for Android
  • Android Russian — a Russian-language Android variant
  • Endgames — endgame material
  • Extension — additional content

Checkersland PC

This is described as the most powerful version. Key points from the site:

  • Supports more than 20 kinds of checkers
  • Runs on Windows, Linux, macOS, and Solaris
  • Allows you to play with other people over the Internet
  • The latest published version noted on the page is 2025.10.18

Android versions

The site also points to Android offerings, including an online mode and a Russian-language build. The main page does not detail their feature sets beyond these labels.

Who it's for

Checkersland suits players who want a free program rather than a browser-only game, and who may want variety across checkers variants. If you need cross-platform desktop support (including Linux or Solaris) or want to play online against others, the PC version is the one the site highlights.

Practical notes

  • The site states its programs and services are free; no pricing or payment details appear on the main page.
  • The page does not describe account requirements or login limits, so treat those as unspecified rather than assumed.
