What Is Chico Theater Company?

Chico Theater Company (chicotheater.com) is a community theater serving the greater Chico area. Its productions are created by local directors, actors, designers, musicians, and volunteers, and the site serves as the public face for current shows, show times, and ticket purchases. If you're looking for live local theater in Chico or want to buy tickets to an upcoming production, this is the organization's official site.

What the Organization Is

The theater describes itself as "a true community theater." That means the people on stage and behind the scenes are local residents — neighbors, friends, teachers, business owners, and family members — rather than touring professionals. The company frames its work as both entertainment and community connection, from first rehearsal through closing night.

It also notes that it is sponsored in part by local sponsors, whose names appear on the site.

What the Website Offers

The homepage centers on the current production and how to attend it:

The site does not publish ticket prices on the page evidence provided, so check the purchase link for current pricing.

Ticket Policies to Know Before Buying

The site states a refund and exchange policy worth reading before purchase:

• Refund requests must be made at least 24 hours before your scheduled performance.
• Credits to your patron account cover the full purchase cost except the processing fee, if you bought online.
• Check or credit card refunds carry a 10% cancellation fee, and online processing fees are not refundable.
• Exchanges must be made 24 hours in advance, are limited to another performance of the same show, and depend on availability.

Who It's For

• Local audiences wanting live theater in the Chico area without traveling to a larger market.
• Community members interested in supporting local performers and volunteers.
• Groups or families planning around a specific performance — note the Thursday–Saturday evening slots and the Sunday matinee when choosing a date.

If you're deciding whether to attend, the practical next step is to open the "Purchase Tickets Here!" link for the current show, confirm the date and time that fits your schedule, and review the 24-hour refund and exchange window before completing your order.
