What Is Currency World and What Does It Offer?

Updated

Currency World is a currency conversion and exchange-rate lookup site. Its USD page shows the US dollar's rate against a list of world currencies, plus Bitcoin and gold, with a timestamp for when the rates were last updated. Use it to check indicative rates or convert amounts; do not treat the numbers as financial advice or as the rate your bank will give you.

What the USD page shows

The page is headed "美元(USD)汇率 对于世界货币" (USD exchange rates for world currencies) and lists one line per currency. Each line gives the currency's code, its name, a rate value, and the equivalent of 1 USD in that currency. From the captured page:

Code Currency Rate shown 1 USD =
BTC Bitcoin 83950 0.00001191 BTC
XAU 黄金 4183 0.0002391 XAU

The page states the rates were updated at 12:00 on Thursday, 1 October, UTC 2026.

How to read the two numbers

Each row carries two related figures, and mixing them up is the most common mistake:

  • The rate column is the value of one unit of that currency expressed in USD. For example, EUR 1.130 means one euro is worth 1.130 US dollars.
  • The 1 USD = column is the inverse — how much of that currency one dollar buys. For EUR that is 0.8846, and 1 / 1.130 ≈ 0.8846, so the two columns are consistent.

If you want to know what a foreign price costs in dollars, multiply by the rate column. If you want to know how much foreign currency a dollar amount buys, multiply by the "1 USD =" column.

What else the site provides

Beyond the USD page, the site describes itself as offering instant currency conversion and fresh rates in a user-friendly interface. The page footer links to converters and rate sections including a currency converter, cryptocurrency rates, countries, currencies, Bitcoin converter, Satoshi converter, and a gold price page. It also lists supported currencies by group: popular currencies, government-backed currencies, and top cryptocurrencies, with USD, EUR, JPY, GBP, AUD, CAD, CHF, CNY, and BTC among the quick picks.

Limits worth knowing before you rely on it

  • The rates are described as mid-market rates ("中等汇率") and explicitly "not to be taken as financial advice." Banks operate on their own rates, so the number you see will differ from what a bank or card network charges you.
  • The page is timestamped, so check the update time before using a rate for anything time-sensitive.
  • Automated refresh is prohibited, and any use in scripts or applications is not allowed. The site requires cookies and JavaScript to work.
  • No pricing or account information appears on the page, so nothing here indicates whether any feature is free, paid, or requires login.

Practical uses

  • Quick mental conversion when shopping on a foreign site: take the price in the foreign currency and multiply by the rate column.
  • Sanity-checking a rate a bank or payment service quoted you, keeping in mind the mid-market vs. bank-rate gap.
  • Checking a crypto or gold equivalent, since BTC and XAU are listed alongside fiat currencies.

For anything involving an actual transaction, confirm the rate with the party handling your money rather than relying on the page figure.
