What is ehzie and what apps does it offer?
Updated
ehzie is a small app studio whose tagline is "Apps for your inner and outer work." The site currently lists five apps — daybreak, verses, punchline, huecards, and focus — each aimed at a different daily habit, from Bible reading to focus tracking. Only daybreak, verses, and punchline are marked Live; huecards is In Development, focus is a Concept, and more apps are listed as Coming Soon. If you're looking for a finished, full-featured product suite, only the three live apps are usable today.
The apps at a glance
| App | Status | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| daybreak | Live | Read one Bible chapter at a time, highlight verses, unlock badges, build a streak |
| verses | Live | Find Bible verses matched to how you feel or what you need |
| punchline | Live | A daily feed of 25 jokes you swipe through |
| huecards | In Development | Send a digital greeting card |
| focus | Concept | A minimal timer that tracks focus time over time |
daybreak — Bible reading with streaks
daybreak is built around a single-chapter reading habit. You read one Bible chapter at a time, highlight verses as you go, unlock badges, and build a streak. The streak mechanic is the main hook: it rewards returning daily rather than reading a lot in one sitting. This suits someone who wants a low-friction daily reading routine rather than a study tool with commentary or cross-references.
verses — finding scripture by feeling
verses flips the usual search model. Instead of looking up a reference, you search for what you need or how you feel — the site gives anxious, grateful, lonely, strength, and courage as examples — and it returns matched Bible verses. There are also browsable verse collections. This is useful when you know the emotional state you're in but not the passage you want.
punchline — a daily joke feed
punchline delivers 25 jokes a day as a swipeable feed. You swipe right, left, up, or down to move through them. It's a light, disposable entertainment app with no apparent saving, sharing, or personalization features described on the site.
huecards and focus — not yet available
Two of the five apps aren't ready to use:
- huecards is In Development. Its stated purpose is sending a digital greeting card to brighten someone's day. No release date or feature detail is given.
- focus is only a Concept. As described, it would be a minimal timer that tracks your focus over time, saving sessions locally so you can build a 30-day heatmap of focused time. Because sessions save locally, the tracking would live on your device rather than in an account.
If either of these is the reason you're visiting ehzie, there's nothing to use yet — treat them as a roadmap, not a product.
Getting in touch
The site footer provides two direct channels: contact me and report bugs. There's no pricing information, account system, or app store links shown on the page, so it's not clear from the site alone how the live apps are distributed or whether they cost anything.
Who this is for
ehzie fits two overlapping audiences: people building faith habits (daybreak, verses) and people who want small, single-purpose daily apps (punchline, and eventually focus). The unifying idea is "inner and outer work" — apps for reflection and apps for lighter daily rituals. If you want one polished product, this isn't it; if you like the idea of a handful of small apps from one maker, the three live ones are worth trying first.
