What Is fallout.bethesda.net?

Updated

fallout.bethesda.net is the official Fallout franchise hub from Bethesda Game Studios. It is a portal for the whole series rather than a site for one game: you can browse the main Fallout titles, read franchise news, watch trailers, and follow links to buy games or download Fallout 4 Creations. Use it when you want an official starting point for the series; if you only need patch notes or account support for one specific game, a dedicated game page or support site may get you there faster.

What you can find on the site

The homepage is organized around current releases, news, and the game catalog.

Featured releases and seasons

The page highlights time-limited and current content, including:

  • Fallout 76: The Slasher — a story update available September 15, with a trailer.
  • Season 26: Beware the Blood Moon — a new Fallout 76 season tied to The Slasher update, also available September 15.
  • Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition — listed as available on Nintendo Switch 2, with a trailer and a Buy Now link.

Dates and availability on a hub page change as new content ships, so treat any date you see as the site's current promotion rather than a permanent schedule.

News

A Fallout News section collects official posts, such as:

  • Fallout 76: Letter from the Directors — September 2026, covering the near-term roadmap.
  • Inside the Vault — Return to Skyline Valley and World Pets Testing Server, describing a Public Testing Server on PC for World Pets changes and Bounty Hunting in Skyline Valley.
  • Fallout 76: The Slasher Release Notes.

This is the section to check for developer updates and roadmap information rather than community discussion.

Game catalog

The Fallout Games section lists the main titles with short descriptions:

Game Description on the site
Fallout 76 Explore, build and quest with millions of players in a massive open world Appalachia
Fallout 4 Play as The Sole Survivor and rebuild the Commonwealth while searching for family
Fallout Shelter Keep your Dwellers happy and protected in your own custom Vault
Fallout: New Vegas Left for dead in the Mojave, caught in a conflict of glitz, glamor and greed
Fallout 3 Step outside Vault 101 and survive the Capital Wasteland

Buying and extra content

  • A Buy Now link points to a purchase page (the site shows "Buy Fallout 76" as the purchase call to action). Pricing and platform availability are handled on that page, not on the hub itself.
  • Fallout 4 Creations are downloadable content for Fallout 4, ranging from small tweaks to larger community-made adventures, with a Get Creations entry point.
  • A "Which Fallout is Right for You?" quiz offers a compatibility-style assessment to help you pick a game.

When to use it — and when not to

Use fallout.bethesda.net if you want to:

  • See what is currently new across the Fallout series in one place.
  • Read official news, director letters, and release notes.
  • Watch official trailers.
  • Jump to a specific game's page, the buy page, or Fallout 4 Creations.
  • Get a quick recommendation on which Fallout to start with.

Look elsewhere if you need:

  • Account, billing, or technical support for a specific title.
  • Community mods outside the official Creations system.
  • Detailed patch history for a single game beyond the news posts shown here.

Practical notes

  • The site is a hub, so links take you off the homepage to game pages, the buy page, and news articles — expect navigation rather than everything living on one page.
  • Promotions such as The Slasher and Season 26 are tied to specific dates; if a date has passed, check the News section for what replaced it.
  • The quiz is a starting point for choosing a game, not a review — pair it with the game descriptions above if you are deciding between titles.
